I was hoping at some point that could draft him (before our pick become #19 and prior to Carter being a lock in the top15

He is likely to still develop into a solid player

But I am not going to lie . I am please we aren’t Sacramento right now.

It’s such a bummer when your 1st pick is injured right away .

For Topić it’s different because the injury was known.

Who was the short PG out of college that was going to be the next Kyle again? Wasn’t he on our 905?

I think Utah, OKC’s SL roster is strong. Denver is pretty decent as well. Raps only chance of winning might be against Jaquez-less Miami

Why is tank nation in shambles? I wish that roster were our starting line up this fall. We can get the #1 pick easily for next draft and for 2026. Just thinking about it makes me hard.

Kel'el Ware with a monster summer league game (albeit against the King's B squad). Finished with 26 points 11 rebounds 3 assists and 1 block on 12-21 shooting.

Was my guy all season long. I think he'll do well in the NBA.

Sucks he wasn't available at #19

Tried to talk myself out of him all season but by draft time he was still the guy I wanted at 19 on talent. Seeing Miami take him and knowing how they operate makes me regret even more that he wasn't available at our pick. I feel like they're going to turn him into a monster.

He looked ok but if you watched the game he was being guarded by players half his size....But its a good start for him in the SL so far...But one thing i noticed was he is very slow and takes way to many jumpshots or tries to play like a guard alot which he looks awful in doing...

Being a rim protector pick&roll lob threat will be his biggest strengths....When he tries to do other things beyond his skill set it makes for an ugly watch.

But that's also how kids improve, work on weaknesses.

With derozan and Alex leaving. With BK tanking. Who do you think we will be worse than in the east? Wiz? Hornets? Pistons? Even the hawks did a rebuild trade

Lottery odds are pretty flat as long as you are in the bottom 5. We have a chance at that.

Therein lies the issue. It's going to be difficult to be a bottom 5 team when the following teams are likely worse than us:

Brookyln
Chicago
Portland
Washington
Detroit

Then I'd say Charlotte and Atlanta are right after.

We'd have to have some unfortunate injury luck (or Poeltl trade) to really bottom out.

Yeah, agreed. I hope we trade for another first rounder and leverage that to move up in the draft.

As it currently stands, I'd bet we're better than Atlanta and Charlotte too. Especially, Charlotte if they don't resign Bridges. If they resign Bridges, get Williams and Ball healthy and see improvement from Miller, they could be competitive, I guess. But, at same time, not being competitive is terrible for moral. Losing the play-in game might not be the worst thing, at least the team will feel like their games matter all year long.

Bridges re-signed. 3 years. $75M. Yea, the question is whether Ball can stay healthy all season.

this is exactly why we should be trading Poeltl NOW, when we're stuck in 11th by March will feel really stupid.

Can we do this right for once? Isn't this supposed to be a rebuild?

Can we get alteast one top pick /prospect during it? like 1????!

I get it, but it is tricky, because unless you're getting a younger but still capable big in return, you are really signaling to the guys on the team that you want to lose. If I'm Scottie, RJ or IQ, I'm not so sure I'm hoping to take a step back in winning in order to move up 5 spots in the draft.

The truth of the matter is, the Raptors are building pretty ethically, not full on tank, but a youth movement for sure with a focus on player development with our young guys. Some of these teams are tanking pretty shamelessly, and that's tough to compete with if you want to build winning habits and chemistry among your team. As a fan, I'd much rather them be competitive than find reasons to prolong injuries and tank like the second half of last year. The wrong decision was made when we decided to go after Poeltl in the first place. For a team in a different spot, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but much too big of a gamble given what position we were in with looming free agent FVV. We lost the gamble, that's for sure. I'm not sure the 7th pick compared to a 12th pick is worth playing a season that's not competitive, but that's just me. I also respect the other side of the coin, however, but I just think it's more about other teams being pathetic than us not doing a rebuild properly in many ways.

I think a healthy Hornets roster is better than us. Atlanta as well.

Only teams that are def worse are Chi, Wash, Det, Brk. Spurs will improve. Portland is equal to us imo.
