Ingram for Ayton

Post#1 » by Boonicus » Wed Jul 10, 2024 6:38 pm

Pelicans get Ayton and filller
Blazers get Ingram and filler

Pelicans get a shot-blocking center and Blazers clear up a logjam at center. I would rather the influence of RWill on the locker room than Ayton and would be a great backup to Clingan. They also get a borderline all-star in return.

Since when is Ayton a shot blocker? 4 years ago?

I'm assuming the filler from Portland includes incentive because I can't imagine the Pels do it without. Of course then it makes no sense for Portland to spend an incentive to turn Ayton into Ingram because they are still going to be bad and he's a pending free agent and they have big investments in Grant and Deni at forward already.

Confused by this one for both really.

I dont know why Portland would want pay the max for Ingram, they are far from contention. They need a 3rd team to get Ingram and send value to Portland.

Ayton is a great defender. Dude can guard ! He is better than any Center the Trailblazers have.

If you are not joking: he legitimately might be their third best center.

I have every team preferring an expiring contract to Ayton.

Ayton has a solid set of tools to be a quality defensive player. He has not proven capable of utilizing those tools on a consistent basis.

I hate that Portland got stuck with him : / one of my favorite non-Jazz small market teams.

I gave him a chance. He has quick feet and a solid mid range shot.

Bbiq, toughness, physicality lacking.

The second half of the season Ayton played pretty well. You can't lay that terrible Portland season at his feet. They had so many young players and injuries. You guys talk about him like he never was an important piece of a quality team before.

I don't see Ayton as having that kind of value. I would think Portland would have to massively sweeten the pot as I see Ayton as a net negative.

Change of 3 teams..
Ingram to Warriors

Wiggins to Bucks

Lopez/Payton+FRP(Prot) from Warriors to NOP...

Change of 3 teams..

Ayton to the HAWKS (Ayton showed his best game with CP3... fit well with TraeY)

Capela expire to BLAZERS..

Hunter+SRP to PISTONS

Great for NO to get their center

why would PORT need Ingram to add to Grant, Avdija, Murray, Sharpe and Walker none of which are really guards or centers

This needs the Nets as the 3rd team and two other teams to give value for DFS and Cam which can be split between the Pelicans and Blazers. Ingram ends up in in Brooklyn, who can fish or cut bait next summer. Ayton+ goes to N.O. Filler from the other teams+ ends up in Portland.

I think if there was a contending team willing to give up picks/youth for Ingram, he'd already have a new mailing address.

Not necessarily as NOP is trying to compete. NOP looks for a better fit, preferably signed for more years, but the only teams trading this kind guys are those wanting to tank, and to those, Ingram has no value. I hardly see Ingram being dealt on a 2 team deal.

I think NO's interest in Kessler & his rookie scale contract is they're entertaining keeping/extending BI.

I just watched the DJM presser & it appears he thinks he's going to be playing with BI.

(Kessler rookie scale) - Theis - Missi
Zion - Collins
BI - Murphy
Herb - Hawkins
Murray - Jose

NO's trade - (CJ, pick/s) for (Kessler, Collins)
