First 'if': If Randle signs his extension this summer, I don't know what it would have to be to make everyone happy including Randle, the Knicks and the Wolves but it seems MIN doesn't want to trade for a guy in his last year of contract potentially losing him for nothing after trading KAT for him.
Second 'if': If MIN will do the trade without getting the pick haul they probably want to trade KAT. There would have to be enough talent and cap relief to make it worth doing the deal while staying title contenders but the Knicks sure don't have that draft capital they'd want anymore.
If those two big 'if's happen, then I think a trade will happen, if either of those aren't happening, the deal isn't happening.
I still don't know 'if' I'd like it.
On a different note, wouldn’t KAT totally change our (defensive) identity? I get we will score more. And now we are risking more OG injuries as he will play the 4.
Super risky imo. Way safer imo to play out the coming season and see what we got, then make moves.
