Evan’s definitely worth this contract, not sure what you’re going on about.

This did end up being a really good class
Tier 1 (all-nba potential) - Barnes, Mobley, Sengun, Franz, Cade
Tier 2 (all-star potential on the right team) - Kuminga, Green, Suggs, Jalen Johnson
Tier 3 (good role players) - Giddey, Murphy, Kispert, Herb Jones
Tier 4 (rotation players) - Davion Mitchell, McBride, Aldama, Tre Mann, Cam Thomas, Dosunmu, Aaron Wiggins

idk why people compare contracts signed in different years, especially max contracts since those are tied to the cap. As the cap goes up, the contract values will go up.

Also, Mobley is better than Ayton.

Compared to what though?

This means Barnes, Franz, and Cade were all overpays as well, right?

The issue is Mitchell's playing style. He's heliocentric without the talent nor the size.

True but he just signed max so he’s not going anywhere . Plus garland and trea backcourt doesn’t work

Trae and Mitchell backcourt doesn't work any better, and is probably worse...

Move Mitchell to sg and he has some size . Garland and Trae too small

Cavs major issues are still bench and sf . Could Austin and Rui fill that need for garland . Making Mitchell prime ball handler .

Lakers fans need to stop with the wish casting. Darius Garland would have to demand a trade to the Lakers for a move like that to happen, and he just did the opposite.

But back on topic....

Unlike most top picks, Evan Mobley has never gotten a lot of touches or been featured in the Cavs offense. If he was averaging 20 & 10 on a bunch of rim running, lobs, hooks, drives and cuts, fewer people would question his extension; but there's a general mistrust of big men who aren't MVP level. The thinking being that teams can get a big man who can rim run and protect the rim for a lot less.

It's a high artificial bar we tend to set.
