I’m pretty fine staying put, too. We now have a coach again. It could be worth giving it a whirl as is.
Seriously, what Pelinka pulled off last year assembling this roster was quite remarkable. The price tags… It’s a very versatile roster with many multiposition players, a good mix of young and veterans, quick and big lineups are possible.
Here’s our current roster per the Lakers site:
Guards: AR, Russell, Dinwiddie, JHS, Christie, Vincent, Knecht, Bronny
Forwards: LBJ, Reddish, Hinson, Lewis, Hachimura, Vando, Traoré
Centers: AD, Hayes, Wood, Castleton
What was "remarkable" about last years team? Honest question. I saw a boring, pretty untalented team that barely made the playoffs. And then they got creamed. We were 8th in the West....dead center. 15th in offense, and 16th in defense. That's the very definition of "ho-hum"....nothing remarkable at all.
And secondly, we don't have a coach now, as you stated. We literally don't have a coach. We have a guy who we HOPE is gonna be a good coach...but who in actuality, you have ZERO reason to say is good, other than you want him to be....cause he's never coached before. Let's get that fact straight. There is ZERO evidence that this guy is any better than Rambis. You have no idea. So saying "now that we have a coach" is untrue. We have a "guy" who we hope to make a coach.
And lastly, guys like me are pretty effin tired of the whole coach song and dance. 2 years ago, Ham was the man who was gonna replace that tired old Vogel guy. That "dufus" who didn't know how to get the best out of Brick...and stopped caring about defense apparently. Even though he brought us a title, and clearly knew how to coach. In fact...he was the "super coach" who was gonna replace that sh**ty coach Walton.....that big mistake who couldnt coach his way out of a paper bag....despite the fact that just a few years earlier he was the "wonder kid" who coached the Warriors to a 43 and 2 record (whatever it was) and was amazing. Everyone was so glad we were gonna get him.....cause MAN, was he gonna be a major upgrade to that horrible coach Scott. You remember Scott right?? "Tank commander" I believe he was called. Worlds worst coach who just let Kobe do what he wanted...(let's ignore the fact that Scott coached what is literally the worst collection of bull-sh** ever assembled on a basketball floor)....but just a few years before that, we were so happy to get Scott.....cause remember what a disaster D'antoni was??!! OH MY GOD...wasn't he the worst?!!! ...........and so on and so on and so on. GIVE IT A REST WITH THE COACHING. It's pure boring at this point. Your throwing your towel in with a guy who's literally not coached a second in anything but 12-year olds, and saying "now that we have a coach" ....it's fake news. We all 'hope' JJ brings the goods.....but A) we have no clue, and B) he prob won't look too good with this complete junk team.....just like Walton looked a step or two down, when compared to his work with the Warriors.
Funny how that is, no??? Turns out your team means alot more than your coach. I'm sick and tired of the FO getting away with making the coach the fall guy. And yet it always works with huge swaths of the fanbase. So now we're supposed to just anoint some dude with ZERO experience an upgrade.....and call this disaster of an off-season a success?? That's fu***ing kool-aid drinking right there man.....no thank you. None for me.
