Also why was Emmitt the only effective RB during that time? The Cowboys had several RB’s and none were nearly as good as Emmitt. Lincoln Coleman had about a 5-6 game run where he was really good but that’s it. If the OL was as great as everyone says why didn’t they have more success running the ball without Emmitt?

Don’t get me wrong the Dallas 90’s OL was really good but I think their greatness gets overblown by opposing fans when trying to discredit Aikman and Emmitt.

I also don't think we give enough credit to the greatness of Alvin Harper and especially Jay Novacek.

You’re half right. Novacek was great but Harper sucked.
He had that one great catch against the 49ers but he never turned out. He averaged about 20 receptions and 400 yards a season. He went to the bucs and basically sucked. He eventually just washed out.

Actually he had 2 great catches against the Niners, one in Candlestick and the other in Texas Stadium.

It’s not a bad thing, it’s a good thing. I’m a big believer of the thought process that football is won and lost in the trenches. Gotta have a good OL and/or DL to win games a lot of times. OL though I feel like are always so underrated. People don’t give OL players as much praise as they deserve. Recently I feel like they are getting slightly more praise because of stuff like PFF etc, but still I feel like they are major anchors to teams and most fans don’t talk about them at all.

I feel the same way that teams should be built from the inside-out. I do think if Erik Williams never gets in that car accident he’d also be in the HOF. I have no idea why Nate Newton is not in the HOF. He has the All Pro votes, the Rings, and the longevity. Not to mention a great personality.

With the current environment and clown show in Big-D these days, is it a good idea to give Lamb Jefferson type money?

I haven't seen the Cowboy fans this bummed going into a season since the mid 80's. Cowboy fans have finally realized what Jerry mean't when he said they were "all in".

Yeah I mean, as long as I could remember every media outlet and many cowboy fans picked the cowboys to win the Super Bowl every single offseason, basically my entire life. This offseason seems different, I don’t know why.

Perhaps Cowboy nation finally sees Jerry as us old guard fans have been telling them for over 2 decades.

Maybe they actually win this season and Dak signs a 10-year, $750 million contract.

Jerry and Stephen are in an awful pickle. After telling Cowboy nation they were "all in" before going into free agency and doing nothing, now have to navigate all these contracts and have to do it with over 80 mill of dead money going into the 2025 season. Knowing we still need a QB. :ouch:

For those who want to see what Jerry said about Dak in regards to his contract. Definitely sounds like Dak is going to walk.

Also sounds like Dak is ready to get the hell out of Dallas.

I can’t wait to be a dak prescott fan when he’s a Tennessee titan.

Then he can be praised for never winning in the playoffs.

Then I wouldn’t mind if he wins a Super Bowl, might even root for him to do so, depending on the circumstances
