As some have speculated in this thread, it's likely that the Sixers made it a condition of his participation, which makes sense to me. I don't think it's a indication he'll be wearing it in the NBA for the rest of his career. He would have worn it in the playoffs, if so.

He did wear it in the playoffs.

Part of me wants Maxey on this team. His speed would make a difference, as this team is very slow in the backcourt.

The other part of me doesn't want this wear and tear on Maxey. He is better than Jrue and White, you can also make a case for Jaylon on this team.

It made my day that Tatum was DNP. Sitting there with his pretty ass hairline on the bench. Classic.

I'd be more than fine with exactly zero Sixers playing in this thing. If a team that loaded can't breeze through to the gold, something's really wrong.

I can definitely see Maxey making the 2028 squad barring injury of course. By then most of the older players (LeBron, KD, Curry, etc.) should be retired.

While they aren't quite at the "12 best Americans that want to play" it's not too far from it. The team would be better with actual roster construction but that'll never fly.

Lebron will probably play as long as he wants, although the Lakers will probably make him retire as they will be mediocre at best. How long does he want to play in that situation? If it was me, I'd leave. But he won't, he is playing for his legacy in this Olympics really hard right now probably cause he knows he won't win sh...t for the Lakers anymore.

I'm still happy Tatum was DNP, did I mention that?

Tatum DNP is wild. My just for fun conspiracy theory is that Kerr & the USA staff are trying to mindf*ck the Celtics team. White over Brown for the final roster spot and Tatum DNPs is a great way to try messing with their team chemistry.

Just getting around to watching the game now. That first half was the worst possible performance for Embiid. Hopefully he can get it together soon because that was rough to watch.

Hold your horses there man when it comes to lebron not winning anything again. i have it on good authority the lakers front office, lebron and AD are going to pull out all stops to defend and win another in-season tournament title this upcoming season. Book it
!!!!

And then I would expect Silver to proclaim that the in-season tournament wins would now be considered championships, complete with rings, allowing LeKing to "match" Jordan's six rings.

This sounds exactly like Dave Silver to me.

Well Jojo skips going to games in Denver for a reason. Granted he is looking terrible, but the Joker does that to him regularly. I just hope he starts to look better in better matchups cause they made an effort to get him the ball from the beginning.

That's not true at all. Embiid has owned Jokic H2H.

Once upon a time I went to MSG to watch the process 76ers play the NY Knicks. In the 4th quarter the game was tight but Jahlil Okafor did not get off the bench. The game went into OT and still Okafor did not play. After the game coach Brown said he simply forgot to play Okafor. Kerr simply forgot to play Tatum....it happens.

I think Embiid got psyched out a little bit. He just looked a little lost & had a bunch of clumsy moments. The crowd booing him, the online convo about him recently, and the Jokic matchup was probably a lot to handle.

This really doesn't help his case. He's already being branded as not being able to rise to the occasion when it matters.

I'm really hoping Maxey takes another step forward as the closer and leader for this team.

i hope kerr and company give most of Embiid's minutes to AD and Bam so he can sit on the bench with Tatum. Then Tatum can tell him all about his championship run and let Embiid look at his championship ring. i'm all about the tough love here.

Psyched out ! This is a former league MVP what the heck has he got to be psyched out about? is the Olympic stage just to big for him? Amazing !!!!

If he can't perform at his best on the Olympic stage he needs to come home and take his rightful place as a defensive second option on this team. No questions asked.
