I remember thinking Dirk Bauermann was great coach, but he never really translated to club Basketball, his Germany with Dirk had its moments. Current coach also has incredible talent in his disposal.
Yea Germany and Serbia are easily the most talented teams in Europe. If Jokic weren't a 3xMVP, it wouldn't even be that close in terms of talent.
I haven't seen Germany's coach do anything special tbh. Even his decision to leave Schroder in the game in year's quarterfinals almost proved very costly. He wasn't making any shots and was essentially hurting the team. While it was nice to see the coach not lose faith in his leader, it was still obvious that it was a huge gamble.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
