Well, I always thought Ireland was a cupcake of a country, but apparently it's large enough to accommodate the US, Russia, Canada

On the subject of overlooked/underrated/good hip hop, Chino's first album Here To Save You All is a classic to me, turned me on to the underground scene back in the day.

Booooo! It sucks how many artists I like (who are not that much older than me) have been passing away over the last couple of years. MF Doom, Gift of Gab, Trugoy etc. Now Chino XL.

He was never a guy I listened to that much to be honest, but I did cop Here to Save You All when it came out because it had a track with Kool Keith, and I was/am a massive Kool Keith fan.

I just was doing a bit of Googling and saw that Tame One (Artifacts), Hurricane G, Black Rob, Bushwick Bill, Stezo, and Craig Mack have died relatively recently as well, which I don't think I knew about.

I don't recall hearing about Craig Mack, seems he passed back in '18 before it became the in thing.

Black Rob had been found living homeless with liver issues IIRC, not long before he passed. I don't know the full story, but that story is a sad (and cautionary) one.

I was never real familiar with The Artifacts, but I had The Ultimate taped off the radio back in the day, and I saw them live several years back. It's a shame to hear that Tame One has passed since.

Chino's album was the first time I had heard Kool Keith. Never really knew what to make of him, but I like some of his stuff, and you have to respect him just cause he has such a unique style & vibe about him.

I lost track after the early 2000's of a lot of Kool Keith releases because of the sheer volume of stuff he put out, but the Dr Octagon album with Dan The Automator and Q-Bert is one of my all time favourites. And even though I came to it a bit late, Ultramagnetic MC's are also right up there for me.

Same would have to be said for Between a Rock and a Hard Place, the first Artifacts album. If you have only heard The Ultimate off the second album, do yourself a favour and check out the first album. A start to finish classic, much better/stronger than The Ultimate in my opinion. The production is fantastic.

Pretty underwhelmed with the House of the Dragon second season, and the season finale in particular. They are obviously aiming for a pretty big start to the third season, but doing that at the expense of a big chunk of the second season is not ideal.

I did watch both seasons in the last two months, as I didn’t watch the first season when it first came out. I’m going to give Game of Thrones another go now, I have only seen the first season around when it first came out which I didn’t particularly like, being someone who read and enjoyed the books before the show came out.

Many people have assured me that the tv show got much better after the first season.

Great new cover of REM's "Driver 8" from Toad and guests from the Gin Blossoms and Vertical Horizon.

It's very rare to find a cover of an R.E.M. song that does justice to the original. This is one of those. Thanks for sharing.

Watching Pulp Fiction for only the 2nd time in my life and first time in over 20 years (I just got the 4K disc), it's a lot better and more enjoyable than I recalled. I guess I wasn't mature enough as a person or movie fan to enjoy it first time around, but yep, really sold on it now, Uma Thurman, John Travolta and Sammy L Jackson are especially amazing.

I've struggled to find quality programming the last couple months but this surpassed my expectations and is good enough to recommend. A quirky thriller from Spain with interesting characters and a solid plot. There are occasional scenes of gory violence so beware of that I guess. But it's a good watch. If you don't hablo espanol, there's a choice of subtitles or a dubbed version that is done well. On Amazon Prime.

That's a series, right? This still applies...

Struggling to find some new good stuff to watch too. But LotR series is back in 8 hours!! So there's that. I know I'm the only one in the world who loved it, but I hear the 2nd season is so much better than the first, even for Tolkien fans.

Haha yeah the new thing I've just heard about always seems more exciting than the thing I've been meaning to watch.

Yes it's a series. 7 episodes. Flew by pretty quickly for me. Apparently there will be 2 more seasons to match the book trilogy it's based on, which is pretty cool.

I liked Rings of Power too and still don't know why it has such a crappy rotten tomatoes score. Grumpy Tolkien fans I guess. Looking forward to season 2.

I believe new seasons of Only Murders in the Building and Slow Horses drop soon as well.

I recently watched Lady in the Lake on Apple with Natalie Portman. It was decent but perhaps not very memorable. I really want to get into Sunny on Apple but there's just one more episode not out yet so I'm making myself wait.

I never watched Lost (from like 20 years ago) at the time and it's on Netflix now, so I binged the whole damn thing. Huge time investment. Really liked the first 3 seasons but thought it got stupider and stupider over the course of seasons 4-6 to the point that I wanted to throw my tv out the window lol.

It was far from perfect, but I really enjoyed the first season of Rings of Power too. It seemed to me that a majority of the negativity was from the internet troll types of the world who complain loudly about things like strong female lead characters and lots of diversity in the casting.

I am keen for season 2, but I cancelled my Prime subscription a few months ago and now need to decide with its worth renewing to watch one show.

I started watching Foundation on Apple TV. Not as good as The Expanse, but not bad.

The best show on TV/streaming that you (probably) haven't seen is Homicide: Life on the Street, the 90s masterpiece that is only now finally on Peacock.

Just watched the first three episodes. If you liked season 1 you should like season 2. I’d say worth it
