Considering we have just won the title, and Brad has resigned or extended most of the team, it is amazing to think what this team is capable of. With Brown being just 27, and Tatum 26, Brad has locked up the following that are younger or same age as Brown and Tatum, to grow with them.

counting this upcoming season:
Brown 27 years old, 5 seasons
Tatum 26 years old, 5 seasons
Pritchard 26 years old, 4 seasons
Hauser 26 years old, 5 seasons
Tillman 25 years old, 2 seasons
Queta 25 years old, 3 seasons
Scheierman 23 years old, 4 seasons (with an additional year as qualifying offer)
Watson 23 years old, (not yet signed, but I bet he will be)
Springer 21 years old, (not locked into a contract after this season, but I bet he will be)
Walsh 20 years old, 3 seasons

With Porzingis just 28, 2 seasons, Kornet just 29, White just 30, with 4 seasons, and all but Kornet signed past this season, Brad has put a young team, just off a championship run, in a great place for a dynasty.

The advantage that new owners will have is knowing, for the most part, exactly what payroll will be like over the next 3-4 seasons.

Don't sleep on Jrue "the fountain on youth" Holiday. IMO, he keeps himself in great shape and some guys just find a way to stay healthy. He's averaged 65 games a year in his career. I'll take that, his production and his heart all day long.

If you look, I edited my post to say just that.

:rock:

Best Celtics trade since the 07'/08 championship year IMO

Surprised not more Mass-born celebrities came to the games to watch them live during the playoffs.

Rather than start a new thread about this, thought I'd just put it here instead - While watching the game today (US. VS. Puerto Rico), it looked like Tatum has some new ink on his leg (sorry no picture, I stink at trying to post things). Did he always have a Tat that big, or did he use some of his new spending cash to get that done? Just wondering if anybody else might have noticed it?

Matt took 2 months after the season ended to arrive at this realization. Kudos!

I've come to the realization (especially with Svi signing with Utah) that we're not gonna sign a vet FA to the 15th roster spot and that (barring a mid season trade) these are likely the 15 guys who are going get on the team:

Tatum
Brown
KP
white
Jrue
Al
Hauser
Pritchard
Tillman
Kornet
Queta
Springer
Scheierman
Watson
Walsh

Those 15 guys will be the ones who get most of the minutes..with a slight chance that JD or Peterson could get some mins in a pinch, if they are developing well and we need a deep bench PG or deep bench wing for some spot mins.

1) I'm cool with this roster
2) Love how much continuity we have. Out of those 17 guys I just named, 15 were with the team last season. That's crazy! Svi anbd Brissett are gone, replaced with Scheierman and Watson. Everyone else is the same..that's pretty cool.

Brad realized he's got something special here and wanted to keep it together. The only guys we added are both 5 year college players who are 23, very mature, high IQ players who know how to play, high character, good fundamentals who should fit in nicely and are young pieces we can develop a bit over the next couple years.

The 2 rookies, along with Springer, Queta, Tillman and Walsh are still young and some of them are entering their first full season with the team so all of these guys should improve and develop over the course of the season too.

Really excited for this squad. And excited for our chances to repeat !

A lot does hinge on KP's health. So really hope we can get him some rest, get him some rehab, take it slow with him, and really put a ton of focus on getting him healthy and then keeping him healthy.

But if he can't stay healthy, we should look to trade him next summer..for a piece (or pieces) who are more durable..hopefully at least 1 of those pieces is a big..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Derrick White and Jayson Tatum both won an Olympic gold medal, won a championship, got max extensions, and had their second child (not together) within the year.

Yeah they are only adding that 15th guy if someone else gets hurt. They’ve got 17 guys that can play, 16 available until Christmas. Agree will be fun to let the younger guys get a little bit of run here and there.

Heat @ Celtics was the only correct game to put on ring night for Boston. These two have knocked each other out on the way to the finals 4 out of the last 5 years. Jimmy should be there watching us get our rings. I can’t believe they fumbled that one..

I think that we should try and Win it this year, for the Back of the Bench Bunch.
They get paid good money, the further they go.

https://www.sbsun.com/2024/08/13/lakers-nba-cup-group-play-for-2024-schedule-finalized/
The NBA Cup prize pool will be awarded to the players on the teams that participate in the knockout rounds. The estimated prize money is:

• Players on winning team of the NBA Cup final: $514,971 each;

• Players on losing team of the NBA Cup final: $205,988 each;

• Players on losing team of the semifinals: $102,994 each;

• Players on losing team of the quarterfinals: $51,497 each.

There is one caveat: two-way players on those rosters only get half as much as those on standard contracts.

That's one of the weakest, if not the weakest, grouping.

Cs should win all 4 games.
