Maxey, George and even Joel are able to space the floor and hit contested jumpers, but having a guy that could push the ball and setup offense like a real PG and defend could've been valuable. Clearly not likely at this point, so they're going the old head route, which is fine honestly... but makes so much sense to get a guy like dsj or fultz if you can, but playing time can't be guaranteed as the shooting of Eric and Kyle is more important in the playoffs. Especially since they actually have gotten quality prospects at forward, which was a bigger need.
I'll reiterate, Morey has written a masterclass on how to build a full roster and a big 3 in the most restrictive league/cba in many fans life times. Never thought it was possible, but he's highlighted some loopholes that are new
I think DSJ is too small. Good defender, but he's pretty much a one position defender at his height, no? I don't think that works particularly well next to Maxey. Like him in general, just don't see the fit here.
I'm intrigued by Fultz due to his size, athleticism and playmaking. The shot is a pretty big issue in terms of fit though, and it's not like there's a ton of on ball usage to go around. Still, feels like an obvious yes for the minimum on our end as a 15th roster spot... But there's gotta be a bigger role available elsewhere for him, no? Is he coming here to compete with Lowry, Gordon and Jackson for bench minutes?
