However, in the event that Porter's value is equal to Zach Lavines... this thread is necessary.

How is Denver getting off Porter? (okay maybe the Pistons would do it). But I don't think I've seen a fan of a team proposing they trade for Porter here. Lavine is a better player, though the health is a very fair question. Bottom line, I think Porter is worth less/more negative.

He, he funny thing is not one trade idea with MPJ here was made by Denver fans for a long time. And on every one of them you comment how you don't wan't him in Detroit. OK, we don't want to trade him. But if no one wanted MPJ how we had so many trade ideas in which you commented.

Ah, and MPJ is way better player than Lavine. MPJ was starting small forward on championship winning team, Lavine is carrier stat padder, losing player. Not many players could contribute to championship winning team.

I think most MPJ trades are based on the Nuggets getting financial relief, not other teams clamoring to get him. I don't think having won a title in that role is very persuasive. All kinds of players have contributed to championship teams.

I don't want him on the Pistons, but I put nothing past them. We dropped 2/52 on Tobias Harris and I can't imagine who else was offering anything close to that.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I agree trades are based on Nuggets getting financial relief, but they waren't made by Nuggets fans. And after all, in those proposals Nuggets get financial relief, other team gets MPJ, right, so some people would like to see him in their team.

About winning a tittle he was No #3 on the Nuggets. Not some end of the bench player. I see a lot of people give too much prize to Jokic and downplay other Nuggets, but Murray/MPJ/AG are perfect compliment with Jokic and each other, so you can't replace them with any other players and expect the same result.

Aaron Gordon for Jaden McDaniels

dont think wolves can afford gordon's next contract along w/ Reid's

Yep, that's part of why I said I didn't think it would happen. But if something like this did happen, I think they would be able to choose two of the three guys with matching player options (Gobert, Gordon, McDaniels). Remember this deal also subtracts McDaniels' longterm deal that is already on the books, so I wouldn't completely rule out finding a way to keep them all.

Are you suggesting that they follow this with a Gobert trade, and move KAT back to the 5?

Is there a midseason Mann+DJJ for Gordon type trade that could make sense if LAC figures they can trust one or two for their guard/wing depth pieces?
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

That's definitely interesting and as awesome as Gordon has been for Denver, think a deal like this makes them even more dangerous. DJJ was a big part of Dallas' success last year and I've always been a Mann stan

DJJ was great as a POA defender, but thats Mann's role too. This trade removes the big wing defender the Nuggets have in a conference with Lebron and KD still playing at superstar levels as well as Luka. DJJ doesnt guard these guys well and im not sure who else on the Nuggets does.

I'm not saying they should, but I think they could.
