If I didn't have trust in the FO from their track record I'd be calling this a loser deal and I will reserve my right to still say it in the future.
Wut...and a first...even an owed one, I like this deal even less and I didn't like it before I heard about the pick. KAT better not be a pussy or he'll get reamed by Knicks fans, I'll say that much.
It's a first that won't convey, most likely, but it does turn into 2 2nd rounders if it doesn't, and those seem to be more valuable than in the past under new CBA rules.
I like Donte a LOT and I think fans or FO should never underestimate the impact of a knockdown 3 point shooter, but I also think he's being somewhat overrated on here, same way we do with our rookies.
KAT vs Randle is close but I have edge Towns. This is on pure ability.
Towns is a much better fit for the Knicks, and he fixes the C depth to some degree by truly being able to play both 4 and 5.
And like Aggo and others have covered, Randle should close the gap in salary with Towns in the next year. Might night make the same, but the value would be close. Not that that really matters with the Knicks hard capped anyway.
