from a pure standpoint of getting off kat’s contract so they could have some flexibility and still be competitive post trade hard to argue the wolves aren’t also winners here. i think it’s a win win tbh

Not sure if they can't keep Randle if he plays well this year.

I see no reason why he would demand less than Siakam money in free agency.

Siakam earns "only" about 9 fewer millions a year than Towns. I don't think these 9 millions were make or break for keeping Towns. And that's before factoring in Divo's contract.

Don't be surprised if Minnesota moves Randle before the deadline.

it might work out for them that no one really has cap space to offer randle a max contact other than rebuilding teams

And Thibs got more out of Randle than any other coach by far. It will be interesting to see if he can keep the same level of play he had in NYC.

This is interesting to me, because I actually see them as great fits. From a distance and soaking in hours of Youtube footage in the last week, Randle's personality reminds me somewhat of a more even-keeled Pat Beverley. And Ant and PatBev were very close in their time here.

And on the court, Randle couldn't say enough about Finch as a coach, and vice versa. So I am not too worried about that.

Yeah, I think Randle will mesh well with Ant. Randle got that dog personality that Ant has. I think it'll be a great pairing. Excited to see him ball out for you guys.

I hope he smashes it out West. The Randle and Zion games are going to be epic.

Maybe not but we couldn't resign iHart so the point is moot. The Knicks had to pivot and address that position.

I do think Towns is an upgrade over Randle regardless of iHart. The two-big lineup of Randle and iHart didn't provide enough floor spacing for us to really contend imo. Our offense had a ceiling.

Sure, KAT comes with some defensive challenges (so did Randle), and these are fair concerns, but I think it's easier to work around that than around a lack of spacing. I think it's really unforgiving in the playoffs in today's game.

Judging from the way Ant ran their offense (into the ground) in the playoff knockout game, Julius will be getting those new contract stats.

A desperate team like the Pistons could easily throw 40 mill at Randle to add to their win total. If he plays well, he'll have some suitors in the offseason.

Ant talks kinda crazy tbh. Like with KAT i saw him say some stuff and I'm thinking "boy these dudes must be really comfortable for Ant to talk down on him like that". Dude was talking as if Ant wasn't a veteran and he was his son son. If it's just jokes whatever but I dunno. It made Ant look like a tool that was buying into his own hype.
