I would take Saleh back although reports are this morning he is wants to take a break from coaching and won't accept a job for the rest of 2024. They did offer Belicheck the position but I knew he would reject it. GOAT level head coaches like Walsh and BB don't take demotions to coordinator positions. It just doesn't happen.
Bellicheck only cares about breaking the all-time wins record. I think he's like 10 wins or less away.
So being a coordinator or Asst. HC does not fit his agenda and he's not getting younger.
However, maybe teams won't hire him as HC unless he "proves" himself as a DC?
It would be pretty hard to believe that some team wouldn't give Belichick a chance as HC given some of the guys out there running teams. Totally get not giving him personnel powers. I think that's where he got himself in trouble. But in terms of coaching, especially on the defensive side of the ball, he's as good as it gets.
Any team could have had him this offseason and nobody wanted him.
