What the Lakers can offer to us?
I was never looking at Mavs and Lakers as a trading partner due to their lack of assets last year, and they may attach negative contract.
We really need to lower the expectations of the return for Bruce Brown. He's expiring and frankly, not that good. We might get a second rounder or middling youngish player (think Agbaji).
I think you need to raise your expectations.lol We'll see. But there are a lot of additional factors that will dictate the return than just whether Bruce Brown is valuable around the league. Are we taking on more money this year? Are we taking on a bad contract that goes out a number of years? You are probably right that if it were possible to make a dollar for dollar trade of just expiring contracts, the pure value for just Bruce may be marginal prospect and a 2nd but the chances that a trade happens in that form are almost zero.
So your “value” argument is to take on a bad contract on top of $23M we just spent to retain him in order to trade him? That’s not my definition of value.
