Lat year the Magic was 18th in ORTG. Is an upgrade to 15 really that unrealistic to you?
Last year they were 22# offense.
Their offensive index was closer to Pistons (3rd worst) than 76ers (15th - average).

Agreed. We need to be average on offense and elite on defense. Wolves of the East.J-Mezzy wrote:I’m super hyped for this season
I think 50 wins is the goal

Lowering turnovers in general will do wondersJ-Mezzy wrote:eyriq wrote:Agreed. We need to be average on offense and elite on defense. Wolves of the East.J-Mezzy wrote:I’m super hyped for this season

Hopefully Paolo makes a decent jump as I don’t see much else where we improve offensively

That will come down to Paolo and Suggs improving. There is hope but still a concern imo

I want him to be awesome! I want him to play point guard!
I have nothing against him whatsoever. I loved him as a prospect and still feel strongly about him.
But I’m not gonna sit here and straight up *pretend* like he wasn’t used a pure 3&D spot shooter last year like 95% of the time when he clearly was.
That doesn’t mean I think that’s what his role is going to be forever or should moving forward. That’s just what it was last year and that’s all we have to go off of at this time.

ditto...I can't wait to hear the "Gotcha" BS if he does as well as we ALL hope. Critiquing what we've actually seen isn't "hating" (to some of us)
No one is pretending he wasn't used as a spot-up shooter/defensive specialist. Literally no one.Knightro wrote:The only thing I don’t like is this implication that seems to exist that I don’t want Anthony Black to succeed or be a point guard or whatever.

The argument has been about his playmaking ability (can he be a primary or secondary playmaker), and his position (did he play point guard, are we developing him as a point guard).

Based purely off last year, which is all I've ever been talking about, the answers to the two questions you asked are simply not what you think they are.
If you use someone almost exclusively as a spot-up shooter/defensive specialist, A. they're not showcasing any playmaking ability they might posses and B. you're not developing them as a point guard.
I understand you don't agree with/accept that, but I don't really care because it's factual information.
Will that change this year? Perhaps, but I still think it's gonna be hard to jaws of life the basketball out of Cole Anthony's hands.

Most sites considered him a point guard last year, as they do this year. The inability to recognize his position is the only reason why someone would bet on Cole over AB.
