We will be going up against much better teams, and a guy off the bench who can win you playoff games is exactly what every playoff team needs. Doubtful we find a better 15th man who would make more of an impact in the playoffs than Lonnie.
If Brad doesn't have something up his sleeve with some bench depth this season, this could go down as his worst move as GM.
That's not all we have for bench offense. Ever heard of Hauser or Horford? Tillman and Kornet are good. Pritchard appears to be improved this season too..and does more than half court heaves.
We were like 10 points better than the 2nd place team last year in bench net rating. Spare me.

That remains to be seen

Yet 0 playoff teams offered Walker a guaranteed contract this offseason.
Zero.
Face it. The Terance Davis, Austin Rivers, Lonnie Walker, Will Barton, Reggie Bullock, Terrance Ross' of the world aren't that valuable in today's NBA

We don't need a 15th man. You only need to carry 14 guys. Carrying a 15th man would just add to our astroomical tax bill.
And in the playoffs, you only play like 8 or 9 guys. Your 15th man ain't moving the needle in the playoffs. What did Svi and Queta do in the playoffs last year? Nothing

This makes no sense. *Every* GM in the league declined to offer walker a guaranteed contract.
At least Boston gave him a chance..at least we brought him on an exhibit 10 deal. Brad was the only GM in the league to give Walker any type of contract this offseason.
And we're the one team that doesn't need Lonnie Walker...because even without him, we're the favorites to win the title:
https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/nba?tab=nba-finalsTo my knowledge, there has never been a GM in NBA history who has paid $11 mil (that's what we'd pay in taxes + Walker's salary if he was on the team) for a 15th man.
And as Keith Smith explains, 15th roster spot is going unused more and more these days..especially under the new CBA..and with the addition of s 3rd 2-way spot (which means we have 17 guys on the roster..14 standard and 3 2-ways)
