Moody contract looking better already.
Does this set any bar for a potential Kuminga deal?
If it does, it won't be for the Warriors!

I wanted Trey in that draft and would still take him at 4/112 over Moody at 3/39.

I wonder if they switched teams, if they'd both be in the other's shoes right now
If going year to year, Trey is obviously better right now
If going by age, Moody is better at 21 than Trey at 21
I prefer to go by minutes (in chunks of 100) in these kinds of comps.. and by minutes, they are nearly parallels. There's obviously some wiggle room logically there as Moody's 3 year career of minutes is about the same amount of minutes Trey got in his sophomore year, (about 2500 for both) but it just really highlights that Moody has been underused here and would be getting more minutes, and almost certainly more money, in almost any other location. The difference between a success story and a mostly disappointing pick thus far... well that and 73 million dollars
I love that Moody signed but the dude is practically a saint because I'd be livid and demanding a trade 2 years ago

Is it April 1?

If Kuminga earns it, he can also get a mega deal to be matched by MDJ next season.

Yup this works well for the Warriors. Not going down the Poole route again.
I'm curious if the Warriors offered anything in the Trey to Green range of an offer. If they did, I think Kuminga was wrong to not accept, but they may not have even been at those numbers with him.

I think they'd have to be around the Trey numbers at least, but yeah not accepting 25-30m AAV would be concerning. He doesnt do anything above average except score and that's the best way to get burnt - find a good scorer and hope they supplement their game with the things that win games

IMO that would have been irresponsible. It's in the agent's interest to get a deal done now but what do you say to these guys if you talked them into passing up millions of dollars and there's no market for them next year? You have to just lay out the scenarios and let the player make the decision he thinks is best for him and his family.

I know he is a fan favorite but I think there is a widespread belief with the team - including with Steph - that he hasn't been quite ready for a big role. If Steph thinks you're not ready for a big role are you as a young guy gonna think you know better than Steph? Maybe if you're Jordan Poole...

I’m surprised Moody signed at that number especially when you factor in that he’s represented by Klutch.

I'm gonna guess the two sides were just too far apart for a real offer right now.
