Soooo true Folksssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We made a massive anti Thibs trade. Our rugged play style is gone and defensively we’re much worse. Have to hope this new team is better than our past identity, but so far it doesn’t look like it.
the trade didn't make us "softer" lets be real here. kat isn't any softer than randle - both have questionable make up and defensive deficiencies. we don't have a true C right now. losing iHart changed the make up of the team.
all that said we have much tougher wings this year than last year.
it's just weak to say we are a finesse team now when really we just played an ugly style or hoops last year
Yeah KAT isn't a soft player at all. He is actually pretty physical from what I have seen.
We lost Ihart regardless and Mitch was going to miss the start of the year regardless so we always were going to have to change our offensive identity from being reliant on offensive rebounds.
The trade certainly didn't make us a worse offensive rebounding team. If anything KAT is a better rebounder than Randle. Now we will be reliant on spacing more so I wouldn't necessarily say "softer" team. I would say more skilled team. Which isn't a bad thing. Our offense last year was a lot of smoke and mirrors because it relied on Brunson to do pretty much everything (after Randle went down) and then our 2nd best offensive play was a missed shot because we were such a great off rebounding team. Not sure how sustainable that would have been considering Ihart and Mitch weren't going to be here to start the year trade or no trade.
I also don't see how the moves made us worse defensively.
KAT I think is slightly better than Randle and Mikal is replacing DD which is an improvement defensively.
I'm looking at these moves solely on there own accord...you can't compare last year to this year because Ihart was bouncing regardless so we were always going to play a different style especially with Mitch hurt as well.
