I'd say you're definitely picking up on what the data says, and I think this is important for people to see, because official MVP voters really didn't seem to be aware of this.
That said: I'm not so quick to assert that this necessarily means Phee is the fundamentally superior player. What data like this can be argued to show was that Phee was more valuable than everyone else, but value comes within that player's context.
I think the most interesting person with this data is actually A'ja, who doesn't really impress, despite the fact that
a) She's impressed in past year.
b) She impressed in the Olympics this year (MVP of that team by the same measures that favor Phee so strongly here).
c) She put up absolutely massive scoring numbers while playing for a team that still had a very successful offense this season.
I do think that A'ja and the Aces need to ask themselves whether focusing the offense so hard on A'ja was ever a good idea given their other offensive talent and the team's disappointing defense this year (given that A'ja traditionally is more known for defense than offense), and the fact this question should be asked isn't exactly a good thing for A'ja's candidacy here, but I'd definitely stop short of saying anything along the lines of "A'ja is overrated" even if I think A'ja scoring volume during the 2024 season is.
And yet, I still may side with A'ja for Offensive POY, because it's not like the Ace offense was unsuccessful like this.
