Re: Tank World Order V (Rise of the Phoenix)
Out of the next 12 games - I see us winning 3 games max and that's me being generous. Pistons, Clippers, and one flukey win versus a good team.
We'll most likely lose 10 of the next 12, which would put us at 3-16.

We tanking for our future #1 option but RJ is just like "Ayo I'm already here."

We running with RJ as our #1 option, but the team record is just like "Ayo, we're 9th place and capped at the 1st round"

I would be annoyed by anything better than 3-22. This is a golden opportunity with the injuries and tough schedule to really bank losses.

Jesus.
You guys are setting yourself up for disappointment if 3 wins from 25 is "annoying" because it is to high

If RJ manages to maintain a 25ppg pace on decent efficiency, that completely changes the ceiling of the team.

LOL... RJ isn't the #1 option on our team, nor would be the #1 option on most teams in the NBA.
Of the 30 teams in the league, he would probably only be able to replace the current #1 option on the Nets, Bulls, Blazers, or Wizards.

Not good enough. Just like my tiger parents used to say, "why aren't you #1?!?!". This team needs to try harder in sucking, because they are inevitably going to win some games when everyone is healthy again. The hope is that we've dug a hole so deep that we cannot get a better record than 5th worst.
I wish we didn't win that Philly game. What a disgrace.

If RJ Barrett is your solution to be the number 1 option you will be back to rebuilding mode with nothing to show for it....Clearly there are no true number 1 options on the team that would be good enough to win you a round in the playoffs...
Barrett is a good 3rd-4th option on a championship team which imo we have a good 2nd in Barnes and a 3rd in Barrett and a 4th in Quickley....We just need a true number 1 guy.

We really need to be taking advantage of these injuries and tanking the hell out of these games.
This upcoming draft class is amazing.

Re: Tank World Order V (Rise of the Phoenix)
This season sucks already with all these injuries. It’s a fine line though as we’d probably win a game or two more with a full lineup by now. If injuries keep up there’s a strong chance we land a top five pick. I had us in that 7-10 range possibly so we are on pace to exceed that with Scottie missing a large chunk of games it looks like.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Barnes is a number 1. Just not in the way you expect. Similar to Jokic situation in 2017/2018.Clutch0z24 wrote:Scase wrote:TorontoBarneys wrote:We tanking for our future #1 option but RJ is just like "Ayo I'm already here."

I think we can get away with another #2 guy, so long as that guy is focused entirely on scoring. Also I fully expect GD to become that 3rd option in the very near future. I think we inevitably end up moving one of IQ/RJ at some point and replace their spot with a high end 3+D player. When that happens, is up for debate, not one of the 3 will end up being a plus defender, and in all likelihood 2 or 3 of them cap out as neutral at best, and no team ever won with only offence.
But that's more of a 2-3 years from now problem.

Props TZ!

We don’t need a guy to pair up with Scottie so much as we need someone who is just flat out much, much better than him.

We must do everything we can to secure a top 5 pick. Not only is the talent high they fit pretty well with the team.

There is no one that projects as a number 1 option in this draft at least number 1 option on a championship team, you might have great #2 options though

Look at our schedule. It will be us and Utah comfortably at the bottom of the standings by the end of this month.

I agree that I see them moving off one of those two as well. We can't have IQ, RJ, and GD and expect to be a good defensive team. Two of them playing major minutes will already be hard enough to compensate for defensively. We need a Hebert Jones, OG-lite, player I think. A big wing who can guard as close to 1-5 as possible.
