when we lose a player thibs just gives more mintues to the starters...he is a good foundation builder but he is way out of his element coaching this style of basketball.

I'm going to assume he's afraid of contact because his freethrow shot is broken, that is also a career low for freethrows at 1 per game. He took 3.9 last year, and 6.6 per game with the Nets in his first year with them. We've seen enough of his shooting so far, and I think it's safe to say his shot is broken.
If he can't perform better than this we're screwed.

We gave up our 3rd and 4th scoring option for OG and then paying him an absolute fortune. he also showed that he has the bag to be a good 3rd option on a contender.
So why not trade for a better fit (means better defender and/or shooter) and keep draft picks if we don't use Bridges as a top 3 option?
For 1-2 picks you could have gotten Caruso for example. Or go after Wiggins, Jerami Grant, DeAndre Hunter etc and keep the assets for another depth-move. just don't get it.

The Mikal trade was to complete the Villanova connection. They overpaid bc they had to bc obviously the Nets aren’t going to do business with the Knicks unless they really got an amazing deal. Even if the Knicks had waited till the season to make the trade the Nets likely would’ve gotten similar assets from other teams that aren’t crosstown rivals.

Then you add Hart to the bench rotation. Compare that to the 9 points the bench combined for. Sure, it is partly on the coach, but our bench doesn’t provide (m)any options.
So in sum, a bench and the two centers coming back will help and possibly fix all the problems that remain. I’d appreciate it if we didn’t go back to panic mode and polemics here.
I get it, but we can’t be playing these doods 40 minutes a night until they come back. It’s not sustainable and at some point, will cause injury to the starting lineup. We have 3rd stringers for a reason

The villanova connection is one of the dumbest reasons to overpay for a role player. Sorry. Should've let some other team do it.

Mikal was a highly coveted elite 3 and D wing that many just thought was playing in a role he shouldn’t be in with the Nets. It wasn’t just the Villanova connection, he’s legitimately supposed to be a great player. All these trades were meant to maximize Jalen Brunson. It just hasn’t worked out so far.

Yes or No?
Thibs only plays you consistently if he trusts you ON DEFENSE. You can shoot 45% and pass like Magic Johnson but if your name is not Brunson/Towns you need to be able to defend. While I don’t agree with Thibs and don’t think he’s a great coach this is who he’s been and the FO continues to give him players that don’t fit this mindset.
