He is the only one we have... bam, JB And Terry have taken a backseat When it comes to scoring
Let's shut up and keep hero happy, so he is healthy And we gain some momentum... Shall we??

It'll be interesting to see how he does through the season.
Currently Herro ranks in the NBA...
5th for 3s made a game at 4.
21st in ppg.
30th in TS% (10 of those in front of him are centers).
Most of the top scoring is the same players although Norman Powell is currently 13th in ppg with a .683 TS% with 11 games played.
Also, league 3pt%, TS% and ORTG early in this season are down overall in the league from last year...
3pt% .366 -> .355
TS% .580 -> .573
ORTG 115.3 -> 113.1
So basically (At the moment) Herro is playing like a top 20 player in this league?
No, do you consider Norman Powell a top 10 player with him being 13th in the league in scoring with a TS% of .683?
Right now, Cam Thomas and DeRozan are both averaging over 24 ppg and my thoughts on them haven't changed on them, it's early in the season.
If you think this is the case for Herro, then you also need to think Bam isn't anywhere near a top 10 center, not that he's just having a tough time at the start of the season.

It’s not maybe. He is taking better shots because of how the Heat are using him. Don’t get carried away. We are talking about efficiency. Not a player who putting up 30, 40 and 50 pt games beating double teams and traps etc. He is playing good in the role he is being used which is a lesser role than in the past

How is his role "lesser" than before?
The usage is the same at 27.1% (last year 27.8%), his unassisted 3p shots are up, his unassisted 2p shots are up. His number of drives is up and the number of his assists is up.
His number of touches is 63.6 (Terry 66.7, Butler 55, SGA at 66.5, Morant is at 65.5, DMitchell 56.3), last year it was 65.1.
It's the same role as last year (pretty much has the ball the same amount as the average lead guard in this league, this isn't off ball at all), he's just better. His usage/touches just going to go up with Butler out.

JRich had options in FA (last summer) and took the minimum to come to Miami after talking to Spoelstra about being told what his role would be. If Spoelstra were to just go with whoever is best right now you may not be able to get FA to take less to come to Miami in the future, why go to Miami if you may end up not playing (because of an injury) and with that, losing potential future money? It's a tough situation and I'm sure Spoelstra will go with the best player (whoever that is at some specific date) after giving Richardson a chance to get back in shape and having a chance to keep his role he was signed for.

Yes his role is smaller. He is being less used as a point guard. He is being more used like Duncan. They have given him a lesser role, more focused. His spot up shooting and scoring off of spots has increased, his scoring off 0 dribbles has increased and his scoring off dribbles has decreased. Before the all-star break last year Spo was using with a bigger role as a with point guard responsibilities. At the around the all-star break Spo lessen his role and told him that they will be using him like Duncan. He has admitted that it bothered him and now has accepted that role.
It doesnt mean he gets less touches, but he has less responsibilities.

I might sound crazy and reaching here but I always felt like we signed back JRich with the intentions of him being the starting defensive 2 guard next to Dame. It just made too much sense at the time.

Delon Wright came here despite several other suitors because of a verbal promised role too. He wasn't happy w how he was used so he left. The player has to perform as expected too, u know? That's the life of role players. That's not gonna deter other players from coming here. Those verbal promises happen all the time, and the promise comes w the expected performance from the player.
