If Bobby extends at 10ish money I’m fine not trading him too. The problem with him is that I’m not as confident that some other team (or even worse Milwaukee) won’t overpay him. If his market is at 20ish money, get whatever you can until the deadline.
Yup, I'm all for a backup in the 8-12 mil range as a bruiser big man to take some of the load and for certain matchups. The 25-30 mil contract should be to someone better and with more athleticism at whatever position that is. And yea I guess I'm just not sure where this extra wear and tear is gonna come from in today's nba. He's maxing his wear and tear as it is due to the driving and slamming his body every where. Nobody posts up anymore where that will increase beating him up on D, there's barely any banging on rebounding anymore. The only physicality comes in the stuff Giannis already does.
But, I'd add that since Giannis isn't exactly the most fundamental on rebounding that whoever the 4 is should be a guy willing to rebound and get in front of his guy. I'd grant Collins doesn't seem the most ideal for that. And by no means am I saying I'm a huge collins guy, just that he's someone likely to being shopped and I'd take him over for sure 1 of our guys, and possibly both.
