I don't think their Big 3 has played a minute together yet. Will they?

Teams are doubling him the minute he tries to break the perimeter. That's going to affect his shooting some. He's not getting wide open looks all night from three either. The pressure is on him every night. Teams are forcing the ball out of his hands more often than not. The opposition game plan is to force everyone else to beat them. That's what I see with my eyes wide open.
Everyone else is acting like he's falling off a cliff getting the same looks he got the last two years . That's simply not the case. He's the engine that drives the offense. Having much taller players guard him between the double teams is also the plan. At the same time he has to orchestrate an entire new style of play and an entirely new lineup while dealing with more defensive attention. His numbers dipped a little bit. 38% vs 35% from three isn't some major issue in a 13 game sample size.
Stats aren't everything. Especially when people ignore context. Which is my point. He's not a problem but, read the game threads. People are talking like he's a problem without mentioning any of the above. This is an entirely different situation than the one he thrived in the last two seasons. He has always figured it out and I'm sure he will this time as well.
The main problem this team has had is fourth quarter collapses. No bench to speak of either with Thibs 6.5 man rotations. It cost us at least two games. We look gassed in the fourth quarter in our losses. When we get Deuce/Precious back I expect to see better execution to finish games.
There's levels to this stuff fam. I am sure we will get much better as the season goes on as a team and, him individually. Nothing to see here. We just need to be patient.
i'm not seeing the doubles you're seeing. teams are shading towards him sure and using big/strong wings - but again he is very often getting in the paint, stopping and pivoting like he did so often last year - but this year he is just passing out (often times a grenade to hart - who fortunately has been pretty good at making them) rather than doing up and unders, turn arounds, or just making floaters etc. also his 3 ball has been off.
he's getting doubled occasionally sure but no more than he was last year post Randle/OG injuries - in which he was lighting it up and unstoppable. some of it just comes down to makes/misses but the eye test to me he doesn't look right - i'm hoping he can figure it out and get back to the level he was at last year. i also wonder why he isn't able to do a better job feeding Kat in the PnP. Kat's numbers are amazing considering he's not really getting any easy looks.
If you're not seeing the doubles... maybe you should be the one to "open your eyes friend".He's being swarmed in the paint. The Nets were running full court presses against him last night as well. There's definitely an attempt to force the ball out of his hands more or make his looks in the paint more difficult. He's also playing on an ankle he rolled over a couple games ago as well. That pivot stop on the dime has not been there like it was.
He's obviously struggling a little with EVERYTHING I mentioned that people gloss over as if it isn't happening. It's been 13 games with a new offense and a new lineup. There's nothing to see here. It will come together and these takes will all be forgotten but, I might have to take a page out of melos book and keep some receipts!!
It's called patience. He's that good. We shouldn't be harping on it like some here are. I'll step back and let the nonsense continue though because, it's just silly to criticize every little thing with the changes the team has made. Especially 13 games in.

Like I said he's held to a higher standard now fair or not. "Harping" on it is to be expected there are no receipts to keep.
Tonight he looked great albeit against a bad wizards defense. My only criticism of him tonight (and a trend all season) is he's missing Kat too often for the trailing 3 and on pick n pops. Still I think tonight was his best all around game. The offense as a whole was flowing great even though against a very bad defense. Brunson could have had 10 assists in the 1st half.

No, OG called the TO
Isn't that what I just said?

No. You said “they” called the timeout. I corrected by stating that OG called the timeout. See the difference?

You apparently haven't had your eyes open reading the board. People have been saying the dumbest shyt about Jalen and the team from game one. It's not about you bro. You are just dog piling on the rabbit.
He's the best PG we have had in decades and has not been a problem on any level. The chatter about him being in a funk or not looking good until tonight is hogwash. Period. I'm done discussing it. He has been adjusting to a completely new team and style of play. Nothing more. Nothing less. This was not gonna be a well oiled machine out of the gate. We have been dealing with injuries to the bench as well. That's all there is to say.
