You'll change your tune as soon as he misses 3 shots in a row, you can't fool me.

Also, Thibs got him more involved in the offense and Hart is less hesitant to shoot than the first 5 games.
I would have never thought Josh Hart would have a better 3-point percentage than Mikal Bridges at this point in the season.

We have the best wing defenders we have ever had.

We have the best FO we have had in forever.

I hope he's alright. I thought Melo said he had personal issues of some sort.
As much of a grumpy old man as he was I always liked him. Maybe because he made me laugh but, beyond him, there's just no one around anymore. I noticed the decline a couple of years ago but, it seems like it's just rapidly decreasing and we all posted through years of garbage basketball together. Now we have something worth posting about and it's quiet.
I don't miss the negative Nancy's that hide when things are going good. I know they are somewhere lurking hoping it all fails before they come around to post. Some are still here but, they post a LOT less than they used to because too much good is happening for them to ruin the board with nonsense.
It's just weird how much the threads have shortened now that we have something good going on.

our 4th qtr net rating is dismal. 2nd worst in the league at -13.6.
I hate to put that all on the amount of minutes our starters play because another part is a new team learning to play together...but the minutes are a major factor. Its just hard to sustain that level of focus and execution especially on defense when you are playing so many minutes.
Knicksfan1992 wrote:National Media may not notice because he's still taking a lot of shots but seeing Brunson morph his game into more of a pure point guard role over the past few games has been a joy to watch.
He's almost turned into a pass first guy the past week. Have to think it's intentional since that one post game where he said he has to get KAT going. It's paying major dividends on offense. The ball is swinging like crazy and we're seeing way less stagnation than we did early in the season.
While KAT being awesome out the gate has been nice to calm the nerves after the trade, this latest boom has been all about Brunson and his sacrifice as the alpha of the team.
What a joy to watch he is. And he still isn't even playing at his best IMO.

Really? Seems a lot slower. I have a shot memory but, I can swear several posters are no longer around. My late night drunk posting buddy hasn't been around. Can't remember the name but, he was president of the Randle/Thibs hate club. There are others who are no longer around as well. KT/FOE or whatever he changed his name to. I know a few got banned. Greenie and that Bulls fan clown. Jimmit. It has definitely slimmed down some. Shams is on hiatus.
Maybe the RJ/Randle/Frank etc wars drove the post count up but, it definitely seems like the post/page count has dropped dramatically and several posters have not been around or were banned.
I remember never being able to follow the game threads at all because the posts would be a page or two behind by the time I hit send and, the post game threads having far more pages than they do now.
Oh well. I am shot so, I'll take your word for it.
Overall the boards are the same but it fluctuates based on team and win or loss. In general, enthusiasm for the NBA is waning some.
I could write a book on it but I think the NBA is losing people's hearts - attention at least - for various reasons, some of which have very little to do with basketball. It has been in scramble mode since COVID. But they have to contend with major headwinds and I don't think the measures they've implemented necessarily help.

I mean, that was the prediction. That we'd have to move away from our historic OREB rate but we had the pieces to do it.
Sorry, I got pulled away for some bedtime activities before I could finish.
I expected the offense to be the easy part. We have so many weapons and Towns is better than I realized. The defense is the harder construction. I've liked what we've seen from Mikal the past few games. Finally starting to find his place here. Wiz are a bad barometer but them and the Nets had trouble getting theirs so that's a good sign.

It's definitely rough to keep up the anticipation and sprint into the closeouts late in a game. The 4th quarter net rating is scary bad, and part of that is chemistry but fatigue makes it obvious when there are chemistry problems. It's a lot easier to anticipate that you'll need to cover for another defender, when you've seen them make the switch or the close out consistently for a bunch of games.

The switch to high volume three point shooting has definitely taken some of the substance out of the game. Just running back forth chucking threes too often. One and done offense and then scrambling back to try and play D while the other team runs up the court and jacks a three. It can be pretty ugly when the shots aren't falling. The superteams took a lot out of it too for a while. Not being allowed to play defense. Superstar leniency with calls. Foul baiting and flopping. Now with all of the gambling people think the refs are in on the fix with the terrible officiating. Then the stupid gimmicks have also turned people off. The streaming blackouts. Terrible all star games. It's a different game from the one I grew up watching.
I think that's only the tip of the iceberg.

We still love hoops.
Its easier and cheaper to pull up an illegal stream than subscribe to all the services to watch a game.

Who would root for the 6ers when they no longer have Tobias Harris?
you know what isn't talked about enough - tobias leaves the 6ers and now they're finished. he heads to the pistons and now they're the 6th seed. and here people don't give you credit for being a visionary. your talents are wasted on us.

It's incredible to realize that this isn't a guy off to a hot start, this is exactly who Karl-Anthony Towns is on the regular, for the most part. A multi-faceted all-time level efficient scorer.
