And this is even more important. Embiid can’t be dealt at all this season because he signed his extension that exceeds extend and trade rules. And every season, he’ll make more than Booker, so Phoenix cannot trade Booker for Embiid until they get under (and stay under for a full season due to hard cap they’d create) the second apron to aggregate salary.
That would work out too as the Suns have expiring deals that would bridge the gap in what Booker and Biid are making.
I would rather do the deal sooner, as I'm not sure how long Embiid will be around at this level but it is what it is.
So you’re going to wait until 27/28 when Phoenix has Beal/KD off the books and able to get under the second apron? Again, Embiid cannot be traded at all this season. And Phoenix would need to end any trade trade below the second apro, and would be hard capped at the second apron if they aggregate for Embiid.
The Suns expiring deals would have been expired before Embiid can be traded.
