Petty, sure. Bitter? Nah. DFS is not a needle mover, and I'm willing to bet that you all will be disappointed with his return, if you even get one.
I think DFS moves the needle for plenty of contenders. A defensively versatile 3&D wing who is fantastic defensively and playable in the postseason, he does a lot for contenders out there. As an outsider, I think its the glaring need for Cavs because I consider him an obvious upgrade on Okoro & Dean Wade (its okay for you to disagree on that). Maybe we won't get much for him, the market dictates the price. But the proposals here are not the ones for us.
Maybe its semantics a bit? I wouldn't call Ferrari Doe a needle mover, but also strongly agree that he's a guy who could come in and play 30 mpg+ in the playoffs for any number of contending teams. He defends multiple positions well. Not a stopper, but a good solid defender and he makes corner 3's and never doesn't anything he shouldn't be doing.
A team like Cleveland would benefit from a guy like that, but if their FO isn't interested like some of their fans here, other teams will.
And agree its hard to know what that value ends up being. But I'd give a protected first to get him back in Dallas for sure.
