Was just gonna post this, looks like we'll have some more competition soon. Quick, someone throw some hot sauce in Jaks eyes, we need to keep this streak going!

What I think would be helpful for the tank is for Olynyk to return so that the optics of trading Jak wouldn't be so obviously tanking. It's a hard sell to the average fan to trade your starting C when your back up C is out.

I am only frustrated when they win. Big picture stuff. It's all about asset accumulation strategy.

Keeps the Spurs from entering the tank teams like they have the last 2 years?

Most expect Utah to be there regardless...random win here and there or not. But limiting another team from joing the tanking group is a good thing.

I assume this was his thought process

The Spurs are above .500 in the west, we are....quite far from that and in the east lol. Wemby is too good for the spurs to be bottom of the league.

The Jazz are an actual concern, especially with Lauri going down last night.

The Jazz are going to out tank us by far. They are in that elite tank tier with Washington. Don't waste time trying to catch them

Yeah man I was really hurt at the mean comments about my mental health (man these people have no empathy) and decided to do a little soul searching in the temple. But now i am back better than ever to root for the tank.

I wonder what happens if someone like Harper is available to us. I see quite a bit of overlap with him and RJ.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Yeah I don't honestly think the top 2 will be attainable without the ping pong balls working in our favor.

I think the realistic goal should be trying to stay in the top 5 (and trade Yak if necessary to do so). Because I think if you can stay in the top 5 there's a good chance to move up and also I'd be very doubtful that more than 2 teams leapfrog us into the top 4. Which means the worst I'd expect to fall is to 7th and imo that's almost perfect because there's at least 7 prospects that would make this ethical tank all worth it (ie/ Flagg, Demin, Harper, Ace, Johnson, Malauch, VJ).

Any of those guys and I'll be pretty damn excited moving forward.

Tank taking a hit today.

The Pels are a scary threat to push us out of the top 3 long term....

I wouldn't be surprised if they trade Ingram and shut down their guys towards the end of the season because they're about to fall WAAAAAY out of the Western Conference Playoff picture and there's no way Zion can hold up for the kind of run the Pels will need to go on in order to make the Playoffs.

I tried to tell ya'll about them a couple weeks ago...

I still think it's gonna REQUIRE Jakob being traded if we want to stay in the top 5.

It's so beyond obvious this team has a lot of chemistry & depth. It takes an insane amount of injuries and almost blatant tanking play calling to end close games just for us to barely lose to Playoff teams and you can see almost every guy is actually improving and finding their roles within the system.

I'm praying to stay in the top 5-7 but man when you watch when these guys click it's hard to think as they get healthier and the schedule gets softer that they won't start climbing their way outta the top 10 smdh.

We're winning against a bad team decimated by injuries and with possibly the worst culture in sports. I wouldnt take anything about how 'good' we are from this game. We just lost to the Pistons.

Our tank would certainly benefit from moving Purple for future assets.

With tanking, it's not about how good we are, it's about how not bad we are.

Yeah but like, if important players are playing well they probably aren't going to lose. If Scottie is shooting 50% from the field and 35 from 3 every night and flirting with a triple double every night the Raptors probably aren't gonna be losing enough games for the tank

The Pistons L takes the sting off this win. Just caught the Pelicans at the worst time. Tougher schedule incoming, good chance to string together a nice losing streak.

If we fall out of the top 5 I would love Maluach on this roster I think. Big upside. And maybe a good scoring big will be the key to unlocking a great halfcourt offence to pair with our already great transition offence (On top of just needing more shooting talent than we have currently.

I mean, if you're going to win, do it in hilarious fashion.

49%/40% (52 threes)/ 33% FT

Game was never close.

It's not about being good or bad....the truth is raptors are a middling team. You just have to look at the point differential to see that they don't have a tank on the level of the Wizards, Pelicans, Jazz unless they continue having major injuries the entire season.

Return to Toronto Raptors
