Think you can argue between him and Miles McBride, who gets 13 Million for 3 years on a declining contract, so almost half on average of what Pritchard is getting. But yeah, at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Pritchard makes an All Star team during that contract.

That is a great deal for the Celtics but settle down with him being an All-Star!

He's under contract for 4 seasons, did improve a lot last season and is taken on a bigger role this season. Jrue is getting up there in age, so it's pretty realistic that he becomes a starter during those 4 years. If he takes another step and Boston continues to dominate in the East it's not unrealistic that he makes an All Star team as Boston's 3rd player. There have been enough cases in the past were players made the All Star game in a similar role. Also I didn't say it will happen, just that I wouldn't be surprised any more at that point ;).

I could see White making an All-Star team, but it is a huge stretch to make an argument that Pritchard will be an All-Star level talent. He would start for several teams in the NBA though and it looks like he sacrificed money and playing time to stay with a contender. That is admirable.

I'm sorry but Pritchard didn't sacrifice anything and wouldn't start for an NBA team at the time of the deal. His deal was completely fair for his archetype and caliber.

Pritchard is fortunate to be playing on a very deep team. On a lesser team he'd be a defensive liability. But with that said, the C's are very deep and he's a great fit - also especially because he's got the best handles on the team. Got to respect his hustle and hard work.

He asked to be traded from the C's due to lack of playing time. Either they couldn't find a deal or they saw something in him to not want to let him go.

The Magic are a good team that he could start for. I hate the Celtics but his a good player. One poster says All-Star and another says bench player. Gotta love Realgm.

I'm a native Oregonian(like PP) and an Oregon fan, and PP as an all-star is laughable.

They've unlocked his confidence to fire at will. That alone is how valuable they find him to be the first man off the bench.

Eh, he's been a lead guard his entire life until the NBA. He's just not a lead guard athlete.

he could start and put up great numbers but he's been blocked in Boston. If he ever got a chance to play starter minutes with starters he'd put up all-star caliber numbers comparable to someone like Garland. It's strange how little Boston Celtics fans like him. I hope he goes somewhere where he's appreciated and can start.

Is there a better value contract in the league right now than Fast PP ?

An absolute lock to win 6 Man of The Year, and a vastly improved defensive and rotation piece that gives Joe Mazz the luxury of giving either of the Jay's a much needed rest/spell on the bench.

His memorable playoff and finals run last season has seemingly being the making of Pritch as a legit and quality and valuable rotation piece for the Celtics.

He is a legit fan favourite now amongst the Boston Brethren and with good reason

I was always a fan, but never really expected this level of consistent product from Pritchard this season.

Brad Stevens easily could have traded/dumped him a couple of Years ago, but being the genius Hoops Savant that he is, backed in PP to evolve into one of the most valuable bench/rotation players in the NBA.

Think you can argue between him and Miles McBride, who gets 13 Million for 3 years on a declining contract, so almost half on average of what Pritchard is getting. But yeah, at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Pritchard makes an All Star team during that contract.

Yeah. A significant fraction of solid NBA players have stretches during which they look like legitimate all-stars, or could win Player of the Week without shocking clueful people. Pritchard is in that fraction.

A smaller fraction could actually make an all-star team, or earn Player of the Month without shocking people. Pritchard probably isn't in that group.

What are you talking about? Fans have adored him ever since he was drafted. Never heard a negative peep about him.

Pritchard is an absolute fan favorite. Where you are getting this narrative that fans don't like him is beyond me. Perhaps there are a few GM posters who don't think that highly of him, but that in no way represents the majority of Boston fans - they love him!!!

PP as an All Star laughable? Probably. PP on the Olympic team? Not so laughable.

The only reason people call him a defensive liability is because of his size. He isn’t a bad man defender though who has issues switching off or staying with his man. He plays on a second unit alongside Hauser and Quetta, feels like the narrative of being a poor defender is a bit overblown.

I’m guessing you’re ignorant to the fact that he’s been involved with Fiba/the national team his whole life. Including winning medals with the under 18 and under 19(which he was named all tourney). I’m not saying it’s likely but dismissing him when he was just a member of the select squad and numerous role players have been included in previous years seems silly.

Guy is underpaid by a good ~15 mil per year right now. Celtics have one of the deepest rosters ever
