Say we have 29, 31 in this draft and include our 2026 pick( another good draft) how far can we move up?

Id rather have 3 bites at the apple instead of one given our roster status. Draft picks are the Celtics only way of adding cheap, cost controlled talent. They have to find a way to develop more rotation guys in the future. Not saying they haven’t, but that success needs to continue given the second apron rules. Long story short: more picks the better

There would have to be a big time slider like Rob Williams or Cam Whitmore for me to really consider it. A guy who was basically a lock to go lottery starting to fall into the late teens. Don’t have anyone in mind in particular at this juncture but you never know what can happen

Simmons makes $40.34 this season. So we need a higher outgoing salary in a legal trade -- that's either JT or JB. Not happening.
If Simmons is waived, he is eligible to be signed to the minimum in-season but not by above-apron teams since he was previously making a salary above the non-tax MLE.

It can’t even be JT because he’s ineligible to be traded this year after signing supermax. (Not that we ever would, I’m just saying it’s not even theoretically possible under the rules.)

We could only acquire Ben Simmons by trading Jaylen Brown for him. Which is as 0% probability as any trade imaginable. And, like you said, if Simmons is waived we can’t get him as a buyout because of 2nd apron rules. Whoever is betting this is truly throwing their cash away…
