Lousy loss. First dud this season.

By this time last season, we've had lousy losses to the Pacers, Magic, and Hornets in OT. But revisionist historians will tell you otherwise.

C's need to improve their defense. And their starting five need to shape up. C's coasting while opponents treat games like they're the playoffs. That's my main takeaway. And even with less than 80% effort, we've won nearly 80% of our games.

They have had a lot of duds this season. Their shooting is down and they’re gonna set a record of 3 point attempts at this rate. 14 for 56 from 3 lol. Nuff said.

Letting Lavine get 36 points tonight was also a factor..

Bill Simmons idea is you start the game with a set number of 3pt attempts you can use, like 30 or 40, and there’s a counter on the court next to the shot clock. Counter starts with 30 and then each attempt the counter goes down, 29… then 28 … and that’s how many 3pt attempts you have left. Once you have used your 3PTA attempts, thereafter every shot from anyplace on the court becomes a 2PTA. So that’s Simmons’ idea

Live and die by the three, this group is hooked on jacking up threes win or lose. It would be nice to see some intensity and adjustments made instead of 3 ball 24/7. C’s haven’t looked great in a while. Memphis bullied us at home and now Chitown. Let’s see how they respond on Sat and Christmas Day!

They already did that in the finals.

Mavs embarrassed the Cs in Game 4 then the Cs bounced back in Game 5 with great defense to close out the series.

Turning on the defense is just about wanting to do it.

What's more concerning is the rebounding.

Cs were leading in the 4th and also had a slight advantage in the boards.

But an early 4th qtr. surge from the Bulls turned the game around.

Bulls got so many 2nd chances early in the 4th and the Cs went from leading by 4 to down by 9 in the middle of the 4th.

This team will go as far as White and Holiday will take them, like last season. They were great last year.
Both are not shooting as well as last season from 3, especially Jrue. They both need to start shooting better. They were a combined 3-16 on 3s today.

Also, when this team struggles shooting 3s like they did this game, they struggle to win. Only 16 points off the bench didn't help. But Joe hardly used this bench. He kept Tatum and KP in too long in the 3rd. Terrible shooting game and not one of Joe's better coaching games.

I don't disagree with you about that because it's true 51 attempts is really high.

But that's something beyond our control.

The good news is I don't think that will be the case in the playoffs.

Right now Joe and the boys are just messing around.

It's very obvious the sense of urgency last season is not present this season and JB already said complacency will be a problem this season.

Still having a better ranked offense and higher net rating despite worse shooting this season. I keep repeating myself, but defense has been the issue.

The good news: Defense has been near elite when both JT and JB are on the floor -- 89th percentile.
The bad news: Defense has been average to subpar when either of them sits -- 38th percentile w/ JB; 58th percentile w/ JT.

We're also +10.6 points per 100 possessions worse on defense when PP is on the floor (they make it up on offense). PP has been on the floor this season quite a lot.

Whatever happened start of the 4th can't happen. Joe addressed it post-game. That godawful 4-guard lineup let their poor shooting affect their transition defense. It was a layup line (well even after Springer and Pritchard finally sat). Bulls had an offensive rating of 140.0 and an effective FG% of 70.5% in the 4th lol.

That's why it's inevitable he gets traded.

It's a waste of money and it's a waste of a roster spot that would be better off given to a guy like Lonnie.
