I’m not mad at the list. As a proud nerd I appreciate the data compilation. My first thoughts were DeAron Fox is way too high, Ja and Bane too low. Those knocking Jay Huff likely haven’t watched him.

It’s crazy Luka can play with minimal effort with pedestrian numbers by his standards and the metrics still fall in love with the way he paces the game. He uses Gafford and Lively to genius effect on both ends to prop himself up lol.

@OP, where do the game score metrics come from? BBRef?

Over a whole season, year in and year out, aside from like Bigs and people in completely perfect situations, this is a very accurate list.

harden is top 15 in this list which matches the eye test

meanwhile durant/ja morant and lebron are all right were they should be ranked lol

Would love to see these adjusted for salary to compare value vs rank.

A guy can in a limited role can provide higher impact than a guy playing in a much larger role. Just because a guy puts up much larger box score numbers doesn't mean that he's contributing to winning more than a guy who isn't.

A role player having more "impact" in his role than star players or higher volume guys in their role is not even a concept that's new to advanced stats. Advanced stats might have a number to quantify it, but it's stuff that people already would say in the past.

I agree but the entire point of these lists is to LOL or else you're doing it wrong.

Stat named after the king of stat padding has always been hilarious to me.

Brown at 65, Wagner at 6, and SGA at 2nd essentially invalides all of this.

All three are absurd.

Honestly, the thing that’s the most surprising about those results is how good they are. For just averaging a bunch of different stats, they somehow came up with a better list than most of the published lists out there. There is a question of what exactly you’re measuring combining rate stats with cumulative stats, but if it’s an MVP list that goes all the way down, it’s really not bad.
