NBA also destroys with the younger generation and it shows through commentary on social media platforms.

As a basketball fan first, someone who really likes football (aka soccer), and also enjoys NFL, I like the numbers I’m seeing from the youngsters - 18-29.

NBA rolling a couple 7s finally having some decent national TV games doesn’t change overarching trends

I honestly don’t get the competition. Normal people watch and enjoy both and don’t criticize either. None of us are making money on this. I turned off the nfl and watched nba. Am I looking for the Nobel peace prize? No

The NBA on Christmas is our day period! The NFL overstepping their boundaries as usual, greedy f*cks! They better stick to what they know best and that's Sundays & Mondays. They're trash outside of those days!

I was gonna say, i gotta wait to see the ratings. I watched both the NBA and NFL yesterday.

I will say, that is the most NBA i have watched in a single day in many many years.

Putting all 5 games on ABC was a smart move, could watch every game for free with a digital antenna. If the NBA wants to be competitive, need to start making their product more accessible.

Yesterday was ratings proof imo. The public saw what took place in real time on the biggest holiday of the year. Of course the NFL and their sheep will have numbers/Neilson boxes but they tried a hostel takeover on a Wednesday and their product was garbage. The NBA killed them yesterday and they needed Beyonce for eyeballs just like they need always need Taylor Swift. No scurrying under their ratings umbrella and security blanket this time around like they always do. Face the fire for a change!

The tweets are non-sense without them. I can’t find them via ‘nfl vs nba Christmas ratings’ google search, nor by adding ‘Twitter’ to the end of that.

Are these people just saying because the quality of the games were better for the NBA? Doesn’t matter if way less people were watching than historical trends would expect.

Yesterday was ratings proof. NBA whooped that azz. Everyone saw what took place in real time, no Neilson boxes or streaming numbers will tell us otherwise. The NFL can't hide behind ratings this time around like they always do. Their product was garbage yesterday.

People already have so much they have to pay to watch, so yes, if you're trying to make a day like that work, the games have got to be accessible to all.

Yesterday's NBA product was great. The problem is, you don't know who is going to be playing tomorrow and who is sitting out for load management. NBA regular season games have no meaning or importance anymore.

So I guess everyone has their head in the sand about this whole situation and timeline..

The NFL wants to take over every day of the week. Supposedly they even had a problem with college football with their playoff games overlapping their scheduled NFL games last Saturday.. and college football is their free pipeline, player development, and marketing as people follow college stars to the pro team that drafts them. Imagine that. Christmas games were always set aside for the NBA while Thanksgiving was the NFL's property. But now they want Christmas too even if it means cattle whooping four teams to play 3 games in 11 days just so they can do have their product out and kick the NBA out of Christmas day.

Of course if Christmas were to fall on a Sunday, Monday, or even a Thursday there there's no up in arms of NFL Christmas games on TV. But on a Wednesday?? A Wednesday!! That's damn near act of war and a "F*ck you and your league, Christmas is now ours!" message to Adam Silver and the NBA. And the hoard of NFL heads, MAGA, and the likes screamed out "The NBA is dead, we're watching the NFL on Christmas!!" days prior. And this also ties in to a pounding that the NBA has taken from complaints about the play and the ratings drop. But a funny thing happened yesterday on Christmas.. The NFL was raw sewage from top to bottom, people didn't even like Beyonce's performance, and the NBA fired on all cylinders and crushed them in actual gameplay, watchability, fun, and excitement! I don't care what the ratings say, the NFL was straight garbage and the NBA shined and blew them out of the water. It wasn't even close imo. Its a small victory, the league needed this badly, and I'm going to pump this just as hard as the crowd who constantly sh*ts on the NBA 24/7/365. F*ck you Goodwill, you might have ratings, but you lost in the public's eye on the biggest holiday of the year where you tried a hostal takeover. Sure I watch the NFL, but they ain't sh*t outside of Sundays & Mondays. The NBA is my league! Let's Go!

I get that. The NFL lucked up in that it only has 17 games and they're all important. If they had 25 games half the league would be injured or be in the hospital by week 18. If it was up to the owners they would have 30 game seasons and then you would run into meaningless regular season NFL games. I hate load management in the NBA too.

NBA also destroys with the younger generation and shows through social media commentary.

That is an interesting point; with all the doom and gloom about the NBA ratings decline, I wonder if and or how the international and social media NBA ratings/engagement have been taken into account.

Congrats to NBA on owning X Mas. Last year the NFL only had 93 of the top 100 tv broadcasts  . NBA had zero.

Who cares? The NFL is still dominating the NBA in terms of getting eyeballs on the product. It’s foolish to pretend otherwise. The fact of the matter is most casual fans are not watching regular season NBA games. The NFL doesn’t have that problem.

A lot of nfl games are garbage , especially tnf. It’s going to get worse when the 18 game season comes. Guys need 6 days to get ready for game (it’s a regimented routine) and then when you force them to play 3 games in 11 days it throws everything off. Yes they are out there but their production is horrible. Just look at the Steelers yesterday.

It looked the NFL should have done Chiefs vs. Ravens and Steelers vs. Texans

One would be a defensive slugfest and the other one would the battle of the AFC titans. Either way, the eyeballs were on Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
