In 2024, Shaq would've made a step back 3. While Bynum would've clapped back with a step back logo three. And the moment would've been forgotten in history with the total of 70 combined threes taken in that game. The death of the traditional big man, and turning everyone into jumpshooting made the predictable nature of the current game even worse.
Some of the most memorable games Ive watched in person involved the traditional C dominating. Watched the Kings in the Cousins era, and boy even though the Raptors lost, I left impressed and blown away with how dominant he was. The JV and Hassan Whiteside back and forth in the 2015 playoffs. Cousins is only in his early 30s, and is not in the NBA. Antonio Davis leading the raptors to the playoffs in 2002. Dwight Howard dominating. Z-Bo/Gasol era. Etc.
I don't watch much football, but this would be the equivalent of allowing DTs to play like WRs and RBs. Sounds entertaining at first but the game becomes meaningless without the structure it was created with. The true obese DT becomes phased out for a 5'8 170 pound shrimp. You don't want it to become arena football.
The NBA has become 2K on rookie mode.
lmao look at that energy. can only dream of that type of competitiveness in todays clown show.
