For the record, there were several rumors leading up to the draft that Tim Connelly really liked Holmes, and those rumors were strong enough that DEN traded up to get him before MIN’s pick. There could be some realism in this kind of trade. Personally, I think Connelly has shown his scouting background by identifying nba talent later in the draft, but I’m not a fan of how much he overcommits to those views. I would not be in favor of that deal, especially after the injury, but it wouldn’t shock me if it happened.
Yeah, and I understand the other side of not wanting to trade the potential missing piece to Joker..
But the pieces seem right if Minn wants to get younger/cheaper, and despite the optimism by fans Denver could be in a position to take a small value loss on a trade right now.
