Bring up the team's record, but it's not his fault the Zion experiment is a failure, Ingram can't stay healthy, Dejounte Murray doesn't move the needle, and the Pels use the Saints medical staff.og15 wrote:He's had another nice little run (14/2/1 on 49/43 last 7 games), 6/7 in double digits, and is up to 44/34 shooting, good for him, though still a solid amount below league average TS% (54.0% vs 57.4%), it's good to see him progressing, especially as a passer.
Maybe he will develop into a player that can be useful for a winning team, time will tell, but always nice to see players get better whether or not it is on the Clippers. Rising tide lifts all ships, more and better talent in the league is good for all fans.
Defense and consistency are really the question. The Clippers didn't need a guy who can maybe pile up points on a losing team. KPJ already proved he could do that in HOU and did it better, and although struggling to get his game back, scored 17, 19 and 16 his last 3 games [17 ppg on 50/45.5%] and is kicking in lots of assists and rebs. It's still a crapshoot at this point.
BBJ or Jordan Miller on a two-way was the other decision. Keeping both was not an option. Same player, really. Except BBJ is younger and taller. So again, it's the other factors. Both BBJ and Miller were available to anybody in the NBA who wanted to offer them a REAL contract. The league passed on both of them. [And as we know, the Spurs only signed BBJ to an Exhibit 10 and CUT him!]
Relax bro, I'm just bringing up BBJ's solid play on the Pels as of late. I'm way past who we kept and who we let go. Calm down, we know the Spurs cut him. This wasn't a moan & groan post.
It's cool. Just recapping for those who came in late. The choices the FO made were reasonable. I like to explore their thinking. I am no fan of their decisions--especially since they seem to have repeated the backup center mistake of 2 years ago--but the BBJ-KPJ-Jordan Miller phalanx seems to make sense. [Of the 3, I still think KPJ has the best chance of being a playoff rotation player.]
