Which teams? Edey is 2-3 years older than every player picked ahead of him - and only Hornets and Blazers could've realistically taken him. Clingan has fantastic splits as a rim protector in limited minutes though, so I doubt he's a worse prospect by any means, in fact, he may be the best rookie this season from perspective of long-term projection. Hornets wanted to invest in Williams (?) and Salaun looks suspicious, they may regret their pick, but the French dude is still 19yo.
There was a group of people questioning Edey's portability to the NBA - yeah, he proved them wrong, he'll be a starter in this league for years to come - but he's still a 22yo top10 pick, him being NBA ready isn't being ahead of the curve from objective perspective.

Congrats everyone, you were totally right about the Grizzlies being so good tricking everyone into thinking Edey was good LOL

Take off JJJ and he's a +1.6. Take off Santi and he's -2.7. Take off Ja and Jaren and he's -1.2
Edey doesn't even have 1000 possessions, I can play with CtG filters all day to find some data to fit my narrative.
The Edey hype is maybe the worst ever, it's almost as bad as the Wiseman hype was. The guy is a 20mpg backup big who literally cannot do anything outside of 3ft and people are comparing him to Yao![]()

he's neither Yao or a 20mpg backup, you don't have to argue in hyperbole
In the current NBA landscape stylistically he's in the mold of Zubac and Poeltl, except much bigger and in my opinion likely better given he has shown a propensity for 3pt shooting that neither of those two have shown
