I mean, value wise it's more than fair but why does ORL do this?
ORL needs a second unit ballhandler (a real PG that doesn’t turn it over) and a second unit big that can spread the floor & score (while Moe Wagner is out). I’m not super excited about Mitchell…but a solid defender is a lot more likely to nudge into Mosley’s rotation. I haven’t seen Mitchell since pre-draft, but I remember the nickname and I see him avg 5 apg with IQ out…and the price seems right for both. Cole & Jett both have talent, but neither has gained any real traction this year, other than filling in for all of the injuries…so the tradeoff isn’t too painful, even if it’s not a huge boost.
Personally, I’d prefer that ORL aimed higher (Sexton?) but they tend to move slow & steady, so this just plugs a few holes rather than any real leap forward.
Your a Magic fan? Your team has no use for those two players. Moritz Wagner provides a similar role as Olynyk and Cole Anthony is way better than Davion Mitchell. Didn't he just win two games for you guys in like a week?
Thanks for the updates…moe is out for up to 12 months, blew his ACL out.
Cole has a moment here & there, but is effectively out of the rotation this year, when the team is healthy. I don’t doubt Cole finds his groove elsewhere and I’d root for him…best personality in the league…he’d be missed, but ORL is getting into serious payroll with 3 big extensions looming and can’t justify $12m for a deep reserve…I think he’s worth that, in a vacuum, but ORL is fortunate to be at a point where the roster must tighten and get more top heavy financially. They’ll be bargain hunting for players 9-12.
