Do u think the team without Jimmy is playoff bound?
And hypothetically, do u think a roster without Jimmy in the playoffs has about the same odds as it does with him in the lineup?
Last year against the Celtics was unwatchably embarrassing for them.
Do you think Jimmy in the lineup wouldn’t have made that series more compelling?
Of course the playoff ceiling is highest with someone who can perform as a top 10 player. Do you think any team is as serious of a playoff contender without their highest paid player? Replacing the salary allotment with another contributing piece (or 2) can level out a lot.
Regarding your last point, in general, I don’t agree..
Not when it comes to playoff basketball
A team full of secondary players isn’t likely to advance
For instance, removing Kawhi from the championship raptors team and replacing him with a Bam type and someone else severely diminishes that team and they don’t come close to sniffing a chip.
Same scenario with Denver and Jokic and Milwaukee and Giannis
That's fair and fine. You seem to not agree with a point I didn't make tho.
Expiration dates also exist IMO and navigating them is important. That's the leveling out exercise. Build for the next push.
