This organization is a complete and total **** show.
I would prefer that they tear it down and rebuild. But in all fairness, we are currently in an era with zero super teams and a lot of parity. If you collect a competent starting five then you can make a leap just like Cleveland did this year and OKC did last year and improved upon this year.
The Bulls are one piece away from being legitimately competitive - which is power forward. We now have two competent point guards in Giddey and Lonzo and Coby as a combo guard can handle it a bit. Jalen Smith has proven to be an adequate Drummond replacement. Phillips and Patrick Williams have backup frontcourt pieces written all over them. If they added a rim protector next to Vucevic or at the very least a power forward who can rebound then they’d seriously compete.
The problem is we don’t have good assets to make that move. Outside of someone like Zion being granted a change of scenery here I don’t know if there’s any move we make that could fill that spot.
