I have an unhealthy obsession with winning a ring. This is the best championship level squad I’ve seen 31 years of watching the Knicks. No other players would look good in a uniform because We can keep adding and still be unsuccessful with this coach. Trying to scapegoat me about Thibs, as if 90% of the board doesn’t want him fired. It’s not a spin, I’m not starphuqin other players, I roll with NY. I focus on what we have and coaching schemes to maximize what we have.

Your level of a coach is determined by what you can get out of your team. Thibs gets carried by the talent of his players. So go ahead, add the top 5 players in the league to the team, and when we continue to lose, you’d still end up looking at the next five players. Come on man.

We are going to have around a 4 year window with this core.

Thibs will not succeed unless we get him very specific parts including the elite rim protector.

Complete player. Game is smooth as hell.

The current talent and depth is not good enough to win a ring though a better coach could get us much closer than Thibs can and you have to get close before you add a final piece or two to push you over the top (see Boston, MIL, etc).

KAT is at his worst at drop coverage and SGA/JDub love love love operating out of the mid range so we rolled out the red carpet to their two best players to get any 65% shot they wanted all game long. Terrible game plan and zero adjustments. That’s why Thibs is not the answer.

In 13 years of coaching Tom Thibodeau has had 2 teams with a winning record against teams that are .500 or better, the Bulls 2x, the Wolves & Knicks never.

Have a look at that quote from no Dope in the fire thibs thread. Thibs coached a 60 win bulls team, only to have rose injured in the first round because of attrition. Regardless, its not an overreaction, and we can only hope that he gets fired in the offseason.

Thibs drop coverage is maddening we were just giving up wide open mid ranges and open 3's last night...all to protect the rim.

KAT is a fish out of water in drop coverage but we continue to use it.

I can’t disagree with this more, thibs has always gotten the most out of the talent given to him and players have only gotten better with him as the coach, assuming some random coach who you don’t even know is going go get more out of this team is foolish. Thibs is not the problem here, it’s lack of depth for one and lack of rim protection 2nd..those are the biggest issues, not coaching

Making up arguments just to defend Thibs, you may as well call that man Daddy with how hard you're going for him. The damage is already done to those two, Mikal averaged 41mpg from December until maybe 2 games ago. The starters got annihilated, the two wings were 2-17 and couldn't guard anyone, that is obviously the bench's fault, it's also the bench's fault the starting 5 can't shoot threes anymore. It's the bench' fault that our defensive scheme on threes is horrific and almost always leads to 1-2 passes away from an open shot for the opponents.

I cant wait for the next coach who will be our Steve Kerr. He will keep everyone under 30 minutes, no one will get injured or tired or sick, all the kids will be stars and play more than the vets, the price of eggs and gas will be a dollar, our offense and defense will be modern and #1, we'll have the best 3pt defense too.
