He’s the best player on our team and on a terrific contract.

Why is POR eating garbage to gift MIL an excellent complementary player?

Didnt realize they gave up that much...Feels like you guys will be the 2010-2015 bucks...Always going after the 8th seed.

You might be right.

POR needs top shelf talent in the worst way.

This deal does not accomplish any of that.

Agree, I earlier proposed a different deal that did.

That deal is nice but it does nothing for the Blazers. They'll likely try to ship off Simmons to a team like Houston or Orlando who can use his scoring and have the defense around him to help. They can send out Tate, Adams, and Holiday. I'd imagine Adams goes to a 3rd team like the Nets for Melton.

I did a surface deep dive into the Bucks offensive woes. My very obvious conclusion is they should shoot more threes and way, way less mid-rangers. The non existent offensive structure may be a problem.

We play the same sets for the last 5 years or so... Hand offs from the wing , back screens to Giannis on top of key, the league has figured us out and exposed us.

Giannis is not like his 2021 Michael Jordan version
Khris is light years away from his 2021 mini KD playoff version
Dame is not that OKC killer any more he aged and regressed a bit too ...
Brook should retire this summer and babysit his son.

On the other hand like it or not Boston's Tatum and Brown are in their prime , with alot to prove ... and alot of help from their deep roster in every position.
We are not even beating the Knicks too.

We need to risk and get Jimmy ... We are washed and old

I would prefer getting Michael Porter Junior or Brandon Ingram but I think we don't have the assets to compete with other teams for them.

We play a completely different offense now than we did under Bud.

I know you watch some of the games, but that's what you see? We literally never run the pick and roll like that now. We have constant movement. The movement is why we mess up our spacing at times.

It was the last pick in the lottery in a bad draft, Brogdon had negative value, and the unprotected 1st is in 2029. Nothing technically false but definitely misleading. Not really different from what you had them getting for him. They wouldn't do it but it's hardly offensive.

Teams with no stars shouldn't be hanging on tight to complementary players. They need something to complement.

Brogdon was not a bad contract.

Nothing in there is misleading but you do you.

Out.

Also, the 2029 pick is part of a multi team pick swap, and the Wizards only get the 2nd best pick.

You presented it like it was some high roller package when in fact it was scraps.

Yep. Green and GTJ are our best volume three shooters and best perimeter defenders. They both should be getting 25-30 mins a night.

Prince should shoot more or play less. Ajax should play a lot less especially if Rollins is legit.

I love Khris and he will go down as one of the best, and one of my favorite bucks players ever. But if trading him means we can get Jimmy, I think you have to do it, teams not getting any younger and we aren't serious title contenders right now. Butler isn't perfect but this team needs a shake up and he would be a damn good player to get as a result

Ok so Butler is still live — here’s that quote from Sam Amick this morning:

And while it remains unclear which teams are truly willing to get into the Butler business, two league sources insisted that the Milwaukee Bucks have not, contrary to reports, been told by Butler’s camp that he doesn’t want to play there.

While the Bucks ended Sacramento’s seven-game winning streak on Tuesday night and have won 20 of their last 29 games (including the NBA Cup finale), Giannis Antetokounmpo was sure to highlight their 0-8 record against the top-three teams in the East after Sunday’s one-sided loss to New York. That sort of messaging, one could argue, should compel Milwaukee to keep the option open as the deadline near.

I’d like to roll the dice for Jimmy but I’m not a cap guy. What would a realistic trade look like? Could we keep the big three in tact?
