Giannis probably gets another top 3-5 vote for MVP and he's putting up 32/12/6/1/2 those are insane numbers without a 3 point shot and being a good free throw shooter. If Giannis gets to 3+ threes a game and 75% free throw it's over he's the best player in the league. Tatum is very good but he doesn't have the killer instinct Giannis has

Might be easily true should we compare same term contracts. We do not, as fas as I am concerned. Luka can easily quit your team after 2 years, Giannis after 3. How would you then value them against each 3d, 4th, 5th contract year of Tatum?

I think both are fair points. Giannis is a better player than Tatum but older and makes more per year on a shorter contract. Tatum has 5.5 years left under contract. This year he is 15 million cheaper than Giannis, and roughly 4 million cheaper for the next 3. After that Giannis is a FA and is likely upwards of 10 million more per year than Tatum.
As far as valuing the contracts I have them pretty close.
Luka is younger and arguably better than Tatum, but less available and only two years under contract. He will be a super max making significantly more than Tatum after that.
I’d value Luka’s contract a bit lower.

Not to clog the thread but I have Giannis, Tatum, and Luka relatively close in value, but still with a current clear order.

But I have a big drop off after that as we go from the proven star category to the players with potential or a step down in talent/favorable contracts.

For sure. This top 6 was obvious af, then it gets more interesting.

I had Wemby-Jokic-SGA-Giannis-Luka-Tatum, but this is close enough.
