As much as I love Williams, I think health drives his price down.

I do think I would be scared to trade for him as Dallas.

Given there are multiple playoff \play in teams inquiring about Rob, I don't see POR trading him w\o getting a 1st back, UNLESS they take a young player they like back instead.

Yeah, he has an injury history, but he is healthy now, and he is a true difference maker come playoffs. Still young (27) and on a very reasonable contract.

Lastly, people acting like a pick in the 20's (most likely) is somehow THAT valuable. First off, the 25' draft is top heavy and a total crap shoot after that, Second, several teams probably would value a high 2nd rounder OVER a late 1st anyway. So, I just disagree that a 25' 1st, that will likely end up in the mid 20's is that much of value that you could not include it in a trade for a guy who WOULD be a difference maker come playoff time. Besides what else does DAL have to offer BUT their 25' 1st, (1) 25' 2nd? That ain't going to get it done.

Now maybe I am wrong, and he gets dealt for 2nd rounders, or POR just holds onto him, but given the interest, the player and POR GM, I doubt he gets dealt for anything less than a 1st. A protected 1st to be sure, probably a 1st that projects to be a late 1st, but a 1st nonetheless.

And I also agree with Chicknin regards to play and get in and see if you can hit on health and luck.

In the end, that’s generally what it boils down to once you are in with the talent to take it home.

IMO POR is NOT high on Reath, he rarely plays and besides hitting some 3's in the definition of "meh"

Yeah, Reath can be had for a 2nd, especially if Portland doesn’t move a different center. He’s an ok floor spreading 3rd string center who is currently 4th in the depth chart. For Portland, he made more sense last year with RWIII out, but RWIII coming back and Clingan being drafted made him really unnecessary and Billups rarely plays him. Almost all of his minutes are when guys are out. He is cheap, so we are fine keeping him and letting him sit on the bench waiting for more injuries, or giving him more time if we trade a center, but he’s also too old to develop further or be part of the future, so if a team wants him for a 2nd, they can have him.

He’s played 15 games this season. How can you call him healthy now?

He hasn’t played much because the Blazers are being intentionally cautious, which granted is likely because they fear he could get injured and lose more value, but the limited games are not because he keeps injuring himself.

I mean the CAPS have me convinced. And since we have once again entered the Dallas first which is headed towards the lottery btw, not in the 20's is worth less than a good 2nd, let's do the Philly 2nd and be done with it....

I'll be stunned if Portland gets a first, but I feel super confident it won't be from Dallas no matter how many random capitals are used.

From one Blazer fan to another.... you are wrong here. And wildly optimistic
