So we went all-in to be a very dangerous play-in team. **** yeah?

If you refuse to be optimistic about your team's chances, that's your prerogative and I have no incentive to stop you. Just stating my opinion on the matter.

Just being a realist. Jimmy defense and leadership will help a lot but him alone won't fix our soft defense and rebounding. We are so bad we have to rely on Nic Richards to be our starting 5.

And to add salt to the wound, by 2031 KD and Jimmy will be gone and Book would be 35 and most likely gone. That pick is our most valuable asset going forward into rebuilding.

That team needs a point guard. Your 3 best players all need the ball. Nobody is facilitating to those guys.

Maybe if they got CP3 in the buyout I can see this working, but they steal have the same issues they have with Beal. Butler is not the right player for the Suns.

Have you been living under a rock? Tyus and Monte are on this team you dummy.
The fact that you think Tyus and Monte are real difference maker pgs is hilarious. Please don't call other posters dumb k. :D

I love these!
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

Phoenix must stop paying players superstar money when they're not a superstar. Bradley Beal and Devin Booker aren't superstars; neither is Jimmy Butler.

Assuming no other deals:

Other than Bradley Beal outgoing and picks

Tyus Jones / Monte Morris
Devin Booker / Grayson Allen
Jimmy Butler / Ryan Dunn
Kevin Durant / Royce O’Neale
Nick Richards / Jusuf Nurkic? Mason Plumlee?

Light on the front line, and point, but they contend in the playoffs. Who knows though?

I was just thinking about the Suns over the past few years.

- WCF appearance
- "We can make it better", get Durant
- Durant gets hurt, "team just needs time to gel"
- 2nd round exit
- "We can make it better", get Beal

Does that sound about right?

Next it's gonna be:

- get Butler
- 1st round exit
- "team just needs time to gel"...

That team would actually be good in 2018 or 2019. Sucks for them that it's 2025. But the top of the west is weak, so who knows what the playoffs will bring if they can avoid OKC :dontknow:

if Richards can keep playing like that, they'd have a shot with Butler. "instant condender" is a bit of a stretch but they'll have a puncher's chance and that's all they can ask for honestly

with that said, a Butler trade would be very complex to execute. i'm still not sure which teams they can make it work it and it basically hinges upon Beal waving his NTC to go to the Bucks (for Middelton and fillers), i'm not sure he'd do that but I guess they some indication that he would, otherwise they wouldn't have traded that 2031 pick

KD and Booker aren't leaders. Its gonna take more than Jimmy to carry those two frauds.

Remind me how Jimmy has performed/elevated when he has other alphas on the team?

Miami is different because he is the clear #1.

I was a Phoenix believer when the KD trade went down. But after the Beal trade and seeing KD/Booker on the floor together, I'm out on them being legit contenders.

Their assets are dwindling and I personally don't believe Jimmy is the answer.

Super teams based on a big three without a supporting cast are no longer viable. You need to win your bench minutes in today's NBA. Butler is much better than Beal, but do the Suns have enough depth to compete, especially after they send out whatever else is needed to make this trade work?

I'd rather have two "stars" and several upper tier supporting players than three big names taking up nearly all the available cap as is the situation at present (and likely will continue into the future). That Beal acquisition killed us and getting Butler is like swapping out a band-aid for an already bloody one, which is covering a wound that isn't going to be remedied by such a simple fix. It's a stopgap measure at best and a downright bad idea at the worst.

If they add Butler and 2-3 other good role players they could get much better.
