And the 3 WILL get better. We’ve seen 20 game stretches shooting 43% on 3 attempts a game this season, we saw a 2 month stretch to close last season at 40% as well. It’s finding that consistency, it’s up and down as expected.
Lol at the AD/Bam numbers, I swear people just spout of nonsense without knowing what they’re talking about. Like you said, it’s resentments they’ve always had showing their true colors while he’s struggling, they’ve erased the last 7 seasons from their mind completely.
You already know but you won’t get good debate on here, your numbers will be dismissed, laughed at, and tossed to the side.
usually just references to feelings, aesthetics, and vibes in response with minimal substantiation.
I'm excited about the potential of this pairing. It's REALLY hard to get this much size in a NBA frontcourt in the modern NBA game that prioritizes spacing and moving in space. This potential is unique AF. But, it's gonna take time and support.
Do any of those numbers factor in the way that each of them are guarded? Because one of them is going to have a hand in their face in every single area on the court, while one of them will not outside of 13 feet.
Hmm that doesn't seem to be consistent with the tracking data from the past couple seasons. Can you provide something to substantiate? I will say Bam is down across the board this season, as we all know.
Here are those numbers from last season:
AD:

67% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)
Bam:

57% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)
Here are the numbers from 2023 season:
AD:

65% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)
Bam:

65% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)
Enlightening and encouraging stuff if Bam can get back to the shooting form he's previously shown and just make marginal 3-pt progress. Thanks for the prompt!
I encourage all to check out the NBA tracking data for more of this sort of discussion
