There's no way the Bulls would trade a bad contract for a much worse contract without a pile of incentives.

There's no way that Beal is going to agree to get shipped to a tanking team in Chicago.

The man just escaped from the Wizards.

Beal was offered a college basketball scholarship in 8th grade.

That's great, but it's still a tanking team. No veteran wants to play for a hopeless loser. No competitive player at any stage of his career would want to.

Nothing of high interest except for an interesting tidbit Kevin Smith mentioned. He said he's talked to ~15 teams that said the Butler possible trade is holding things up with one team saying they were ready to make a trade but the other team pulled out to try to participate in the Butler trade. The interesting tidbit was that he's basically been told, even if the Butler situation isn't resolved in a week, teams will just have to move on with other trades. So, it's logical to say the current options in the league to make a Butler happen may drop in 1 week.

His value as a basketball player is greater than his role in Phoenix, meaning the team is wasting a good amount of his talent and he knows this too. If he were moved to a situation where he trusted the coach and the coach will use him, he could vastly improve his value being one of the 2 top options on the roster. If he stays in Phoenix, he's coming off the bench until at least next year (minus a Booker injury) and for the rest of this contract he may end up just cashing a check and not utilize his talent that he's worked his whole life on. I think it's somewhat the same situation Butler is in with the offense trying to remove as much of the midrange as possible. I still think it's 50/50 Bam is still on the Miami roster the start of the 26-27 season because of the direction of the offense.

This room has finally accepted this is now into development farming period. Now its gonna get very annoying in this room because even thou many ask for youth, many will not have any patience for the ups and downs. It takes about 3 years give or take to develop a player, not three months.

Anthony Davis career FG% by distance
3-10 feet: 45.8% (22% of FGA)
10-16 feet: 42.1% (16% of FGA)
16-3P: 37.9% (18% of FGA)
3P: 29.8%

From last season's All-Star break to present, Anthony Davis is shooting 29.5% from 3 on 2 3PA per game.

Bam Adebayo career FG% by distance
3-10 feet: 46% (32% of FGA)
10-16 feet: 43% (21% of FGA)
16-3P: 33.5% (6% of FGA)
3P: 24%

From last season's All-Star break to present, Bam Adebayo is shooting 31% from 3 on 2 3PA per game.

Anthony Davis is a superior overall offensive player to Bam. I'm not arguing against that in the slightest. Anthony Davis is NOT in an "entirely different league" than Bam when it comes to perimeter game. AD is only a better shooter career-wise from 16 feet to the 3 pt line--and both are below 40%. I'd argue (and somewhat agree with you) that it's bad offense for either of those players to be taking those shots. Fortunately, Bam has always made it a much smaller percentage of his shot diet than AD.

AD is a superior offensive player to Bam mostly bc his scoring in proximity to the rim is on another level. He also has benefited from elite playmakers. Bam ain't about to become AD, but in terms of his functionality in a modern offense while playing with another big, it is absolutely an informative comparison.

Bam is going through a shooting slump and adapting to a shifted role and some of you all are losing your damn minds (or just being opportunistic in voicing resentments you've always had).

His playmaking has gone up this year and his role will continue to evolve with the mid-season insertion of Ware into the lineup.

And the 3 WILL get better. We’ve seen 20 game stretches shooting 43% on 3 attempts a game this season, we saw a 2 month stretch to close last season at 40% as well. It’s finding that consistency, it’s up and down as expected.

Lol at the AD/Bam numbers, I swear people just spout of nonsense without knowing what they’re talking about. Like you said, it’s resentments they’ve always had showing their true colors while he’s struggling, they’ve erased the last 7 seasons from their mind completely.

You already know but you won’t get good debate on here, your numbers will be dismissed, laughed at, and tossed to the side.

usually just references to feelings, aesthetics, and vibes in response with minimal substantiation.

I'm excited about the potential of this pairing. It's REALLY hard to get this much size in a NBA frontcourt in the modern NBA game that prioritizes spacing and moving in space. This potential is unique AF. But, it's gonna take time and support.

Do any of those numbers factor in the way that each of them are guarded? Because one of them is going to have a hand in their face in every single area on the court, while one of them will not outside of 13 feet.

Def fascinating to see the disconnect between the desire for the future and the impatience with the product on the floor unfold in real time.

Bam is the most popular person to target right now for expressing that frustration bc hes now the old head at 27 and is having shooting struggles.

Idk how serious fo is with their 2026 plan, but cleaning the books for 2026 offseason is a good idea itself even if Miami wouldn't land any star player just for the sake of getting rid of all the mess. They already did a step in right direction by not extending Struss, Gabe and Martin.
Fox might be perceived as the most gettable but I'm not that high on him.

Hmm that doesn't seem to be consistent with the tracking data from the past couple seasons. Can you provide something to substantiate? I will say Bam is down across the board this season, as we all know.

Here are those numbers from last season:

AD:

Image

67% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)

Bam:

Image

57% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)

Here are the numbers from 2023 season:

AD:

Image

65% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)

Bam:

Image

65% of his FGA in tight coverage (doesn't distinguish by distance so this includes rim attempts)

Enlightening and encouraging stuff if Bam can get back to the shooting form he's previously shown and just make marginal 3-pt progress. Thanks for the prompt!

I encourage all to check out the NBA tracking data for more of this sort of discussion
