I we drafted another Parsons level defender that could potentially have instant impact. I know that is a low-odds scenario, but it needs to happen.
Everyone is so hyper-focused on the Jones, but one of the things that has really hampered us is our recent drafting. Mazi Smith and Tyler Guyton have set the team back. We have two duds out there and if those two weren't duds? we'd be looking at a different team.
I agree that there is still time for Tyler Guyton. Although he does have a reputation of not being a hard worker, and he just plays off his talent instead of getting better at his technique. If he can shake that label he still has a chance, although I think his best position will be at RT. This is what I’m hopping for from Schotty, that he recognizes that Tyler Smith is the best LT on the team, that’s where he should be starting. If Banks or Campbell fall to them at 12 I would not be upset with picking either one of them to play LG (even at 12).
If the starting OL next year are:
LT - Smith
LG - Campbell/Banks
C. - Beebe
RG - Hoffman
LT - Guyton
I would not be upset at all with that starting 5. Then draft one of the Ohio St RB’s in the 2nd-3rd round.
